Now offering Amigo - 10 yr old Registered Spotted Saddle Horse, stocky build, Bay Tobiano, 15.2h Gelding.

Amigo is the perfect name for this horse he thinks everyone is his friend, people, cattle, etc. He is sure footed, smart and athletic. Amigo is a very experienced trail horse, including camping/riding in ND, SD, NE, KS, AR and KY. He has done 5 days of riding at Caney Mtn in the Big Flats of Ozark’s - very technical and rocky riding. A true hero🐴 https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1cNKavvKZG/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Today we remember Monty Roberts, who has sadly passed away at the age of 91.

Monty was instrumental in bringing humane, relationship-based horse training methods into the mainstream, inspiring generations of horse owners and professionals to rethink traditional training practices. His work encouraged people to look beyond force and build relationships with horses based on trust, understanding and communication. His contribution to equine welfare was recognised by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who became a long-standing supporter of his work.

Here he is pictured with Lluest Abbie.

In 2017, we were fortunate to be invited to take Lluest rescue ponies to Monty Roberts demonstrations, where Lluest Thor, Lluest Diplomat and Lluest Abbie proudly represented the charity. It was a privilege to meet a man whose work prompted so many people to question traditional approaches to horse training.

We thank Monty for his life’s work and the legacy he leaves behind. His willingness to challenge accepted practices helped open the door to important conversations about horse welfare and training.

Today, our understanding of how horses learn continues to evolve through scientific research and advances in equitation science. While training methods will continue to develop, Monty’s influence in encouraging kinder, more thoughtful handling of horses will remain an important part of that journey.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone whose lives he touched.

Rest in peace Monty Roberts.

Instead of a happy birthday today I mourn the loss of sweet Aries. Aries had to be euthanized yesterday after complications from colic at K-State Hospital. Aries just turned one year old, I only had her just over a month. From the moment I saw her I knew she was something special, she had a fiery spirit that matched her star flame 🔥 perfectly. I knew once I won her heart and trust she would do anything for me. By our second groundwork session I was her herd leader. She would run up to me nickering like I was a horse. She trusted me and in turn won my heart over. Everyday she softened to the busy barn, baths, fly booties and loved her grass turnout time. She was a special soul and was taken way too soon. She was more than just a yearling she was my future, my investment in myself, my belief in what I want for the future and my hopeful upper level prospect. A horses bond takes a piece of your soul, this one hits extra hard because I could see a future, I could feel an unbreakable bond and was so excited to see what we could do together. Rest In Peace beautiful girl, it always looked like you were trotting on air.. and now you are. 😇 Thank you for everything and I’m so sorry your young life was taken so soon.
