Abilene Classical Academy

Today marked the end of Abilene Classical Academy's FIFTH year as a school 💙 The Lord has been so kind! We have grown in number, but also in wisdom and love of our mission:
"We partner with Christian parents to connect students to truth, beauty, and goodness through a Christ-centered and classical education. We seek to come alongside the home and church to develop fully formed disciples who love God with all their hearts, souls, minds, and strength. Our aim is to cultivate a love of learning, endeavoring to inspire and equip students to find their God-given purpose to be able to serve their community and the world for the glory of God."

We can no longer fit all of our students on these stairs 😁 But we snapped a photo today of the students on campus who started with us that inagural year. I'd say we've also grown in inches! We look forward to continuing our mission for many years to come, and we can't wait to see what God does with all the world-changers being discipled in our halls.

We can't believe we're already wrapping up another great year at ACA. Thank you to our staff and families for making it amazing! We will be working hard over the summer to prepare for 2026-2027, and we can't wait to see our students back on campus again 💙
During chapel this week Dr. Boen challenged our students to fill their summers with worship, encouraging and interacting with others, reading, and serving. We hope they use all their extra time to bring God glory and to grow in his likeness.

Today was a big day for Abilene Classical Academy - not only was it an ALL-HOUSE day, but we announced our first group of students selected to leadership in our League of Houses for the 2026-27 school year! We have so many excellent candidates who exemplify leadership qualities on campus each week, which means there were some very hard decisions.
We are very proud of these students, and we look forward to watching them grow in their ability to lead others as they champion their houses forward next year! 🦉

It wouldn't be the last week of school without a little bit a fun, and this week our OWLS have had lots of it! 😁 Students gathered around during lunch today to watch our Spring Games winners (the house of WYCLIFFE) take their chances at dunking our Head of School Dr. Boen and Grammar Principal Mr. Williams. It was fun to watch, and everyone ended up getting a little wet! 💦

We had such a great evening listening to our Grammar School Spring Recitation! We hope you enjoyed it as well. Our OWLS work hard all year, an they love getting a chance to show their families what they've learned! If you missed it, the link will be live for a while, so make sure to watch 💙

We really love our Abilene Classical Academy teachers, and so do our families! This week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, and we want them to know that we couldn't do what we do without them. Thanks to the generous donations of ACA parents, our teachers and staff have been showered with gifts and delicious food all week! Wednesday our teachers had the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful lunch period with their peers. Thursday they were blessed by coffee and brunch while our 8th and 9th grades worked as "substitutes" in their classrooms! Both our big and little students had fun with the swap, and hopefully the teachers enjoyed the yummy treats 💙
We want to say a big thank you to all of the people who make Abilene Classical amazing, both the staff and volunteers. We are grateful you are a part of our ACA family! 🦉

We are glad so many of our family and friends were able to take in our Upper School Choir Concert last week, what an evening! Our students showed off their hard work, and ACA's commitment to music was on full display. If you weren't able to enjoy the evening in person, the FB link will have a recording of the show for a little while longer!
This Thursday evening we will be hosting our Grammar School Spring Recitation, so you'll have another chance to watch our students in action before the semester comes to an end! Again, steaming will be available.

The cooler weather today didn't stop us from some outside fun - our 2nd graders took to the ACA parking lot for a chance to watch some rockets! They started with large rockets made from 2 liter bottles, vinegar, and baking soda. Then they each tried their own rocket using plastic film canisters, water, and Alka-seltzer. Abilene Classical is blessed by so many amazing teachers who know how to create excitement for learning - and today there was plenty of excitement to go around!
