Number 25 in the books. The weather was mostly amazing. The 35 student leaders were exceptional and deserve all the credit. All the moving parts came together (and there were a lot this year) because of the hard work of site supervisors Kacy Karnath and Robert Sutlovich. Thanks to Tee (Teresa) for the great job in the kitchen, and I mean great! The sixth grade teachers pulled off the hard parts at camp and regular school and brought out a nice group of kids that seemed to have a fantastic time (as usual). The YMCA (Channel and Weber) bent over backwards to accomodate us, again. The Aberdeen School district support In the background along with the bus garage helped us pull it all together. Thanks to all that helped. Toad came in as a super helpful alumi assistant. It really took a village to help us create this little community of environmental education. This is a great place to work and grow up.

Here is a great video that explains Outdoor School.
Outdoor School | Oregon Field Guide | PBS Outdoor School has been part of life in Oregon for more than 40 years.
Getting ready for the fullest week ever (260+ sixth graders). Happy to welcome AJ West and Wishkah. Hoping for nice weather, planning for rain.
2.35 inches of rain. One million smiles. My student leaders rocked the field studies like never before. This could not happen without our great cook, my miraculous assistants, the district team of food service and maintenance, the classroom teachers making it all happen every day, transportation, the district office, and the YMCA. Outdoor School is such a huge team. Thank you all for hard work over the last 21 years! About 4000 impacted!!!
Looks to be a cool week with some rain. Sounds like a perfect gentle fall week for ODS this year. Bring the warm coat and the waterproof layer. Warm jammies will be useful too.
The wood cookies are all cut, the student leaders all trained, the class lists almost all turned in, let's get this party started! Sunday we get to site. Monday is the day we look forward to all year. 6th graders in the woods!!!
