In Ms. B’s 8th grade Social-Emotional Learning class we stuck with tradition and welcomed our new Upper School students by covering the lockers with sticky notes filled with positive words and encouragement!

At SJA, we choose to use our words to lift others up, build one another up, and remind everyone that they are valued and welcomed. ✝️ Words have power—and we choose to use ours for good!

What a beautiful way to begin our very first 6th–8th Grade Religion class on Tuesday’s with Father Franz, Ms. B and Miss Charlotte✝️

Today, students were challenged,  to get a little messy as they searched through shaving cream to uncover objects—each one carrying a deeper message about our Catholic identity. 🫧

🩹 The bandage reminded us that we are called to heal, forgive, and care for one another.

〰️ The rubber band reminded us that we are connected, resilient, and sometimes called to stretch beyond our comfort zones.

🕯️ The tea light reminded us that Christ is our light—and that we are called to be a light for others.

🧩 The puzzle piece reminded us that every single person has a unique and important place in our community and in the Body of Christ.

❤️And the heart reminded us that at the center of our Catholic identity is LOVE—loving God, loving our neighbor, and recognizing the dignity of every person.

Sometimes the best lessons aren’t the ones we simply hear; they’re the ones we experience, discover, laugh through, and remember. What a messy, meaningful, faith-filled start to the school year! ✝️🕯️❤️

Please welcome Mrs. Rachel Rosenzweig to our SJA school community. Mrs. Rosenzweig will be our new 2nd Grade teacher. She has been blessed to spend 20 years in education, working with children and helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Throughout her career, she has learned that children thrive when they know they are loved, valued, and believed in. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in kindness, love, and high expectations. She and her family had the opportunity to live in several different states as well as overseas, thanks to her husband's career in the military. These experiences have allowed her to meet people from many different backgrounds and cultures and helped her appreciate the unique experiences each child brings to the classroom. Welcome Mrs. Rosenzweig!
