Today I feel like we could all use a little hope.

I like to end each session by writing the word hope. This time I had used up the rest of the small beach with my other words, so I wrote it among the footsteps my husband I and I had created. It seemed fitting for hope to be there, in the messy bits.

Love and gentleness to you all today. You are most likely doing better than you think because what you are carrying may be heavier than you think. 🌊💙🫂

A random share but I am around sand a lot and find it fascinating that sand tolerates and stores heat so well. 🤎🤎

A solar tower in New Mexico uses falling ceramic sand particles to capture and store heat, allowing reliable electricity generation long after sunset.

Found myself surprisingly by the water today. The sound of the waves is so soothing. I wish I had been brave enough to talk to the homeowner and ask if I could do Names by the Sea in her sand.

Love this post. Maybe I will put a wind phone in my garden, or take one to the beach the next time I go.

I’ve never seen one of these before. A wind phone. Si King shared it on Instagram the other day.

I think it might be a Japanese idea originally where there’s a disconnected phone in a garden.

People go there to talk to the people they’ve lost. Not because anyone answers or because it “fixes” grief.

Just because sometimes love needs somewhere to go. I think that’s beautiful.

We spend so much time pretending we’re fine, moving on, staying busy, “being strong”

Meanwhile, a little old rotary phone in the wind is quietly reminding people that missing someone is normal. That continuing the conversation is normal.
