🤍💙 Our Parent Meeting on yesterday evening was a success!! Mrs. Smith shared some very informative information about our Data and how we can continue to LEVEL UP here at Belle-Shivers Middle School 🤍💙🐶 🐶

Today, our school Spelling Bee🐝 was held in the library. The following students are our BSMS Spelling Champions🏆 for 2023:
1st place - Jakylian Doss (recipient of a $30 Amazon gift card)
2nd place - Courniyah Franks (recipient of a $20 Amazon gift card)
3rd place/1st alternate - Quanton Walker (recipient of a $10 Amazon gift card)
Honorable mention/2nd alternate - Stephon Page

They will move on to the Monroe County Spelling Bee.😊

BSMS celebrated our awesome AR readers today! This past 9 weeks, the bar was raised for meeting AR goals, and the students were to meet 3 different goals instead of just one. Of course, our students rose to the challenge!👍
For 4th grade, Jakylian Doss, Courniyah Franks, Omari Gates, Nehemiah Jernigan, Reagan Townes, and Tyrek Woods met their AR goals. Tyrek is our “AR CHAMPION” for BSMS. He met all of his goals AND earned 32.8 points!
The 5th graders read more books than ANYONE with over 500 books! I send a special shout out to Ms. Patton and the 5th grade team for that! The 5th graders that met their goals are as follows: Jayde Buchanan, Tai’Lan Carothers, Alex Cunningham, Jr., Kingston Devauld, Kayleigh Dobbs, Xavier Johnson, Joshua Paine, Makayla Pargo, Dalaina Pippens, Brian Riddle, Jr., and Mia White.
The two 6th graders that met their goal were Yasmin Davidson and Lilly Lopez (not pictured).
Now, we’re gearing up for our next AR celebration! Continue to encourage your child to read and pass their AR tests! Congratulations again, students!! 😁🐾

BSMS Parents/Guardians: Report cards have been sent home today! Please sign and return them back to school. Also, letters concerning the dress code/ tardy policy have been sent home and need to be signed and returned by Friday, January 6. Thank you!🐾

Reminder: Teachers & staff return back to school on Tuesday, January 3rd. Students return to school Wednesday, January 4th. We are looking forward to an awesome second semester! 🐾
