At Aberdeen Elementary, we believe reading can happen anywhere! Whether it's in the classroom, outside on a beautiful day, at the library, or at home, every page helps our students learn and grow.
Research shows that reading just 20 minutes a day can make a huge difference in vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and overall academic success.
We want to see our Bulldog readers in action! 📸 Share a picture in the comments of your child reading this summer and tell us what book they're enjoying.

Our Aberdeen Elementary Summer School students had another exciting visit to the Evans Memorial Library! 📚🐢🐊
Students enjoyed a special presentation by Debora Waz, who taught them about animal habitats. They had the opportunity to see replica turtles, real-life turtles, and even a live baby alligator!
One of the highlights of the day was getting to touch the animals, interact with the baby alligator, and take pictures. Students also enjoyed a special stop by the school garden, where they were able to pick fresh vegetables to take home with them.
Our students had a wonderful time learning through this hands-on experience while exploring the amazing world of animals and their habitats. It was a day full of learning, discovery, and fun!

Our summer school students recently enjoyed a wonderful visit to the Evans Memorial Library as part of the Summer Reading Program!
Students had the opportunity to attend a special presentation by Stormin' Bob, The Singing Weatherman. His entertaining and interactive program combined music, weather, and learning in a way that kept our students engaged from beginning to end. Students had a great time participating and learning while having fun!
We are grateful to Evans Memorial Library for providing this exciting experience and helping encourage a love of reading and learning throughout the summer.

Registration begins June 15!🐾

Aberdeen School District families, please mark your calendars. Online registration for the 2026-2027 school year will begin on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Registration codes were printed on students' final report cards and will be required to complete the registration process. Families are encouraged to complete registration as early as possible to ensure a smooth start to the new school year. All students must be officially registered for school by a parent or legal guardian.

We look forward to welcoming our students back for another successful year of learning and achievement.

Even though the classrooms are quiet for the summer, our garden is hard at work! 🍅🫐🌿
Check out some of the wonderful things our AES Garden has produced — tomatoes, berries, and more! We love seeing the fruits (and veggies 😉) of all the hard work, care, and learning that went into our garden this year.
