Hey McWelsh! Meet Matt!

Matthew Poirier is excited for the upcoming year.

I’m an RA in Mcwelsh. I’m a junior here at Northern State. I live in British Columbia, Canada. I recently changed my major to Biology. I am on the baseball team and have helped out with SAAC. Some of my hobbies are hanging out with friends, playing ball and working out. My favorite thing to do in Aberdeen is either going bowling or just being around Northern and doing some of the activities they host. The best thing about Northern is the people. They are so welcoming and awesome. They will help with whatever you need, and you’ll have a great time here. My advice for residents is that if you try to have a good time, you’ll have an amazing college experience. There is so much to do and be a part of, it’s just a matter of getting out there and trying it.

Favorite Things: In my past time, I love to read, watch Rom Coms, hang out with friends, and online shop.
Favorite thing to do in Aberdeen: My favorite thing to do in Aberdeen is go to Wylie Park and Thunder Road.
Best Thing about NSU: The best thing about NSU is the family atmosphere as well as the many events and activities that are open for students to participate in.
Advice for Residents: My best advice for Residents is to take full advantage of events and things on campus and in the community, this is a great way to meet new people and expand your horizons. Also be sure to get involved on campus to make your experience at NSU even better.
