THE PINECREST PATRIOTS ARE 2026 NCHSAA 8A WOMEN'S LACROSSE STATE CHAMPIONS!

With a 9-7 victory over Apex today at Moretz Stadium, the Patriots completed a perfect season and brought home the state championship trophy. From the first whistle of the season to the final horn of the championship match, this team demonstrated incredible determination, resilience, teamwork, and heart.

An undefeated season. A state championship. A legacy that will forever be part of Pinecrest history.

We couldn't be more proud of these outstanding student-athletes, their coaches, families, and supporters who helped make this remarkable season possible. Thank you for representing Pinecrest High School, Moore County Schools, and our community with excellence every step of the way.

Good afternoon, Southern Middle School families,

I know multiple messages were shared yesterday, so I wanted to provide a summary of the events and an update regarding the ongoing investigation.

Yesterday morning, Southern Middle School received a call reporting an individual on campus with a weapon. In response, our school immediately followed established safety procedures and initiated a lockdown to help ensure the safety of all students and employees while law enforcement assessed the situation.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Moore County Sheriff's Department, Aberdeen Police Department, and Moore County Schools Police Department responded to campus, conducted a thorough assessment, and determined there was no active threat on campus. Following their clearance of the campus, the school safely returned to its normal schedule. Out of an abundance of caution, there has continued to be an increased presence of law enforcement on campus while the investigation remains active.

This morning, we were informed that although the call reported an active threat, investigators determined there was no person, weapon, or any other threat on or near campus yesterday. The reported threat has been determined to be non-credible.

Law enforcement agencies continue to actively investigate the incident and have identified suspect(s) of interest. Due to the active nature of the investigation, no additional details are available at this time.
