Henry County Schools will not delay or close tomorrow, September 12, 2024. If something changes in the weather risk level, we will notify you as soon as possible.
I’ve spoken with Sheriff Eric Blankenship several times since yesterday. The threat was investigated and we’ve decided to continue to have increased law enforcement at all of the schools. I’ve also spoke to Chief Jones in Headland and Chief Walker in Abbeville. They plan to help too. We will continue to work diligently together to ensure the safety of our schools.
I have become aware of a social media threat made to HMS today and have notified Sheriff Eric Blankenship. An investigation is currently being conducted. I will increase police officers in our schools and will post an update tomorrow. Threats will be taken very seriously and not tolerated. Safety is our top priority!
