What an AMAZING day! 🍔🍦❤️

Our First Responders Ice Cream Social was truly more than we could have imagined! Seeing so many of our first responders enjoying lunch, visiting, and spending time together made the entire afternoon so special. Thank you to every first responder who joined us and, most importantly, thank you for everything you do for our communities each day. It was an honor to celebrate YOU!

This day would not have been possible without some incredible community partners. Abbeville General Hospital donated the burgers, and the Rotary Club of Abbeville cooked them to perfection. Acadian Ambulance brought in the ice cream truck and treated everyone to ice cream. Clerk of Court Diane Meaux Broussard donated the water, and Gulf Coast Bank and Whittington Veterinary Clinic provided the tents that gave us some much needed shade from the heat.

Thank you to the City of Abbeville, Louisiana - City Hall for allowing us to hold the event at Lafitte Drive In Park. The comment we heard all day was, “I didn’t even know this hidden gem was here!” It truly was the perfect place for such a wonderful afternoon.

This is what Vermilion Parish is all about. Unique and amazing people coming together to serve, support, and celebrate one another. Our hearts are full after today! ❤️

For the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce, the past year has been about building something stronger—from the inside out.

Under the theme “Building a Stronger Vermilion Together,” the Chamber has focused on strengthening member relationships, expanding community partnerships, developing future leaders and creating a renewed sense of pride in the organization.

That work can be seen across the Chamber’s programming: Leadership Vermilion, State of Vermilion and Legislative Wrap-Up events, candidate questionnaires providing nonpartisan information to voters, and partnerships with organizations throughout the parish.

Community engagement has extended to projects like the Community Garden Club with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana Vermilion Unit and Abbeville Garden Club, the Daylily Festival and Garden Show, Love the Boot Week and more.

At the same time, the Chamber is investing in itself. A comprehensive rebranding is underway, along with the first major refresh of its Chamber office in more than four decades, all reflecting a renewed commitment to its members and community.

This Tuesday, we are saying THANK YOU to the men and women who show up for our community every single day!

Stop by Lafitte Drive In Park anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for burgers, ice cream, and a little appreciation from all of us. 🍔🍦

✂️🚐 What a great day celebrating the Vermilion Council on Aging !

Today we officially cut the ribbon on their brand-new van, and this one is pretty special. This van is going to help our elderly community get where they need to go, whether that’s a doctor’s appointment, the bank, the grocery store, or simply taking care of everyday needs.

This was a real need in our community, and we were so excited to be part of something that will truly make a difference for our seniors. ❤️

And of course, it’s not a celebration without cake and ice cream! 🍰🍦 A big thank you to our valued Chamber member Vermilion Health Care Center for donating the cake, and to La Petite Fleur for donating the ribbon for today’s celebration. Chris Duhon with La Petite Fleur also serves on the Vermilion Council on Aging Board, making today even more special.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate! We love seeing our Chamber members and community come together for something this meaningful. ❤️
