Becoming Olympic Experts in P.E.! ๐
Yesterday, Ms. Gottfriedโs 2nd Block Physical Education students showcased their research projects on a variety of Olympic sports, including Rugby, Figure Skating, Tennis, Softball, and more!
Students explored the history of their sport, learned the rules of competition, highlighted legendary Olympic athletes, and presented their findings to the class. Through this project, they strengthened their research, organization, communication, and public speaking skills while learning about the values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship that define the Olympic Games.
Every presentation was an opportunity to learn something new, ask thoughtful questions, and encourage one another, capturing the true Olympic spirit. ๐ฅ๐๐ค
We are proud of the hard work and confidence our students demonstrated!

In Mrs. Sandersโ English class, creativity came to life in the most colorful way! ๐จ๐
Students selected a simple paint sample and transformed its color, name, and inspiration into original poetry. Itโs amazing to see how something as ordinary as a paint swatch can spark imagination, creativity, and powerful writing.
Learning doesnโt always begin with a blank sheet of paper, it can start with a splash of color.
We love seeing our students think outside the box and express themselves through words.
Great job, Mrs. Sanders and your talented writers!

Our art students recently had the opportunity to combine creativity, craftsmanship, and a little science in a hands-on clay whistle project! As they began to design and sculpted their whistles, students learned about the properties of clay, the importance of precision, and how form and function work together to create an instrument that actually produces sound.
This engaging lesson encourages problem-solving, patience, and perseverance as students test, adjust, and refine their work. Beyond creating a unique piece of art, they will experience the satisfaction of turning a simple block of clay into something both beautiful and functional.
Weโre grateful for our art teacherโs creativity in providing meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that inspire students to think, create, and explore in new ways.Stay tuned for updates and the finished product!

๐ผ๐ Growing Opportunities for Our Students! ๐ฆ๐ฑ
Thanks to the hard work of Mrs. Katie Finley, our phenomenal Agricultural Education teacher, Abbeville High School is partnering with Westwood Elementary School to establish a pollinator and wildlife garden that will serve as an outdoor classroom for students.
Mrs. Finley successfully wrote and secured the grant funding for this project, which will provide native plants, pollinator habitats, and educational signage to create an engaging, hands-on learning environment.
Our Abbeville High School FFA members will lead the design, installation, and ongoing maintenance of the garden, gaining valuable leadership and service-learning experience while mentoring younger students.
We're so proud of Mrs. Finley for her initiative and dedication to creating meaningful learning experiences that will benefit students and our community for years to come! This is just one great example of the big impact Mrs. Finley and her FFA kids have on the Abbeville Community as a whole. โค๏ธ๐๐ป

Today in Mr. Bannister's class, students put their argumentative writing skills to the test with a debate that was both thought-provoking and entertaining!
The challenge? Deciding whether certain foods should be classified as a soup, a salad, or a sandwich. Students backed up their claims with evidence, reasoning, and persuasive arguments; these are the skills strong writers need.
One of the most memorable debates centered around green bean casserole, with several students making surprisingly compelling cases for why it should be considered a salad!
It's always exciting to see students engaged in meaningful discussions, thinking critically, supporting their ideas with evidence, and having fun while learning. Great job, Mr. Bannister, and great work to our students for bringing their arguments to life!
