Do you know a student who wants to make a difference in their community? Applications are still open for the Abbeville Mayor's Youth Council!

This is an opportunity for students to:
- Learn how local government works
- Meet community leaders
- Share ideas that can make a real impact
- Develop leadership skills while serving their community

If you'll be in grades 8–12 and live in or attend school in Vermilion Parish, we encourage you to apply!

2026 DECA State Career Development Conference in the books for these amazing AHS Wildcats. Although our group was small this year, they were mighty and represented Abbeville with pride and grace. Our club was recognized for maintaining high membership numbers and earned an outstanding advisor award for completing countless DECA activities throughout the school year. Students recognized for competition were Elizabeth Phillips for placing in the top five in Restaurant and Food Services Management and Ja’nyla Raymond and Khloe Johnson for placing in the top five in Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making. These students worked hard preparing for this conference and chose to step out of their comfort zones to grow, learn, and meet new people. Our boys even signed up for a lip sync battle, which they were more nervous for than their competition. 😆 We couldn’t be more proud of these Wildcats!❤️🩶

Another Sports Marketing Conference in the books for AHS DECA. Yesterday our club traveled to New Orleans for the annual sports marketing conference with the New Orleans Pelicans. We once again had a group that performed a “marketing minute” for everyone at the conference and placed 2nd. These students were Destinee Wortmann, Kylie Denson, and Thong Nguyen. They received medals, Pelican’s goodie bags, Tshirts and the opportunity to go on the court with the players for their warm up. All of our Wildcats that attended represented Abbeville High exceptionally today🩶❤️
