While we are saddened by not having P*e Wee football this year, the Parks & Recreation board are busy making plans to bring football back next year.

The recreation board committed to helping maintain the Abbeville high school stadium.
We will continue to honor that commitment by hosting a community workday on
•Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 8 AM

Please come out and work shoulder to shoulder with our board members as we help get the field and stadium ready for the opening of the home football season.
This will also be a time to share your ideas to help make P*e-wee football in 2026 return, and any ideas for the betterment of all of our recreational programs.

Please bring your w**d eaters, hedge clippers, pressure washers and chlorox as we work for the betterment of ALL of our kids. Thank you!

Juneteenth Celebrations

I attended the morning worship today at Mount Olive Baptist Church, which is located off Highway 27 in Henry County. As I entered the sanctuary, I noticed that 'The Church Covenant' was posted behind the pulpit. It has been many years since I last saw this document, and it brought back memories of my childhood when we would recite it every Sunday. The words of the covenant had a profound impact on me as a child, shaping my understanding of what it means to be part of a community of faith.

Abbeville Jolly Club Homemakers and Community Leaders held their first meeting of the fiscal year today. Mrs Elizabeth Kohl, Extension Agent was our program leader. She used an electric skillet to prepare a healthy and economical stir fry with a garden salad and banana pudding. Pictures below.
