4-H Summer Day Camp #6 (Cooking Day Camp) was a huge success! A special thank you to our sponsors and the amazing parents who donated their time, resources, and support to help make this day possible.

Nearly 70 youth had the opportunity to learn by doing as they made homemade butter, โ€œdishwater eggs,โ€ breakfast burritos, pancakes, and French toastโ€”or, as some of our youth volunteers affectionately called it, โ€œAir Toast!โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yesterday wrapped up our final summer day camp, and it has truly been a pleasure serving the youth and families of Henry County. Thank you for making this summer one to remember!

We look forward to seeing our 4thโ€“12th graders in our in-school clubs, as well as our Homeschool Club and Youth County Council, throughout the school year.

Stay tuned to see whatโ€™s happening with Henry County 4-H this school yearโ€”we have lots of exciting opportunities ahead!

4-H Summer Day Camp #5 was a success! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ€

A huge thank you to Mr. Jimmy Jones, Henry County Extension Director, for teaching our youth about tractor and lawn safety. His important message, โ€œOne Seat, One Rider,โ€ reminded everyone how safety comes first.

After the safety presentation, our campers enjoyed hands-on learning with Mrs. Megan Jones, Home Horticulture Extension Agent. They dissected flowers to learn about their different parts, created their own terrariums, and planted sunflower seeds to take home and watch grow.

Thereโ€™s nothing better than seeing the youth of Henry County learning, growing, and having fun through 4-H summer activities! ๐Ÿ’š

Mrs. Jaime Price, Henry County 4-H Agent Assistant, and Mrs. Tawnya Kirkland, Henry County 4-H Extension Agent, canโ€™t wait to see all of these smiling faces at our final Summer Day Camp of 2026!

Henry County 4-H Summer Day Camp #4 was a HUGE success! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ€

We kicked off the day with lots of outdoor fun as our 4-Hโ€™ers participated in a color run, kickball, washer and bean bag toss, tug-of-war, jump rope, disc golf, and several other exciting activities. The smiles, laughter, and friendly competition made for a fantastic start to the day!

During snack time, thanks to generous 4-H donations and sponsorships, each camper was able to enjoy an ice cream of their choice from Missy Maeโ€™s Snack Shack. We have formed such a SPECIAL partnership with Shannon, and we were so THANKFUL to have her join us and be a part of our Summer Day Camp experience.

After snack time, Mr. Tony Wilkerson and his crew from the Headland Fire & Rescue Department spent time with our campers teaching them about fire safety and the importance of wearing a helmet while riding bicycles and ATVs. Following the safety presentation, every child had the opportunity to explore the ladder truck, engine truck, and ambulance up close. The excitement on their faces was priceless!

We cannot THANK the Headland Fire & Rescue Department enough for their hospitality, support, and dedication to investing in the youth of our county. Their willingness to share their knowledge and passion for safety made a lasting impact on our campers.

We wrapped up the day by cooling down indoors and enjoying a movie together.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make Day Camp #4 such a memorable and successful day. We are incredibly grateful for our volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and all of the families who allow us the privilege of spending time with these amazing young people. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ€

Yesterday afternoon was a successful ๐Ÿ– Pig Pickup Day for our 2026 4-H Pig Pen Project!

Seeing the excitement on the faces of our 4-Hโ€™ers and their siblings as they received their pigs was absolutely priceless. The anticipation, smiles, and enthusiasm reminded us all why these projects are so special. Not only do they teach responsibility, hard work, and dedication, but they also create memories that will last a lifetime.

As if the day couldnโ€™t get any better, we were treated to a beautiful rainbow stretching across the skyโ€”a perfect reminder of the blessings surrounding our 4-H family.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday possible. From organizing and preparing to loading pigs and assisting families, your time and effort are greatly appreciated. Events like this would not be possible without the support of our volunteers, families, and community.

We wish all of our participants the very best as they begin raising their pigs. Work hard, enjoy the journey, and make the most of this exciting opportunity. We canโ€™t wait to watch your progress throughout the year!

Good luck to all of our 2026 4-H Pig Pen Project members! ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ€
