🐾💙 MEET THE JOURNEY ELITE ACADEMY MASCOT! 💙🐾

We are so excited to officially welcome you to the Home of the Malshis! 🐶💙

Our mascot was created in loving memory of April’s fur baby, Tommie Joe, who has been a part of the Journey Elite Academy journey from the very beginning.

Before JEA was even ready to open its doors, Tommie Joe was there. He walked the halls and explored every room while the building was being renovated—and, of course, he made sure to “mark his territory” around the property too. 😂🐾

Sadly, Tommie Joe is no longer with us, and he is missed dearly. But his little paw prints will forever be a part of the heart and history of Journey Elite Academy. 💙

So when we say WELCOME TO JOURNEY ELITE ACADEMY — HOME OF THE MALSHIS, it means something truly special to us.

🌟 Meet the Owner & Visionary Behind Journey Elite Academy

We’re excited to officially introduce April, the Owner and Visionary behind Journey Elite Academy! 💚

A proud graduate of McCormick High School Class of 2004, April earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Political Science from Charleston Southern University in 2007 and later earned her Master of Science in Human Services, specializing in Mental Health Counseling, from Capella University in 2012.

April is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and has spent nearly 20 years serving individuals and families in the mental health field. She is also the owner of Begin Again Counseling & Consultation Firm and currently serves as an MFLC Supervisor, overseeing counselors in Japan. BeginAgaincfirm

At the foundation of who April is — personally and professionally — is her faith. She is under the spiritual covenant and leadership of her spiritual father, Bishop Hezekiah Pressley Jr. of New Beginnings Ministry in Beech Island, South Carolina. Her faith continues to guide her heart for service, leadership, and helping others. New Beginning Ministries

Beyond the degrees, licenses, and accomplishments, April genuinely loves people. She is passionate about serving others, strengthening families, and creating opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive.

That same heart for faith, family, service, and community is at the center of Journey Elite Academy. 💚

Parents enrolling their child in Journey Elite Academy Aftercare will need to visit their child’s school to have their afternoon drop-off location changed to:
