The Centre for Special Abilities (CESA) in Nansana, Wakiso, Uganda, is dedicated to empowering children with special needs, helping them achieve their full potential for independent living. Serving 40 children aged 5 to 24, we provide comprehensive support through community mobilization, health promotion, vocational training, and environmental conservation. Our mission is to promote a God-fearing, inclusive society with equal rights and opportunities for all. Guided by our motto, "Dare to be true," we advocate for the rights and well-being of children with special needs. Join us in making a difference because every child matters.

🌟 Join Us in Transforming Lives at CeSA! 🌟

Our Principal, Mr. Kizito, delivered a heartfelt keynote speech on restoring hope for parents of children with special needs. The speech centered around 6 guiding questions that every parent should reflect on for a brighter future.

To dive deeper, we’re breaking down the speech into a series of 6 posts, each focusing on one question. This week, we begin with: "Is your life safe?" Stay tuned as we explore how creating a safe and stable environment for yourself directly impacts your child’s growth and well-being.

At CeSA, we are here to walk with you. If you’re a parent of a special needs child, bring them to CeSA, where we provide education, healthcare, vocational training, and a safe, nurturing environment for them to thrive.

On October 15th, Mr. Kizito, the Principal of CESA, delivered a powerful keynote speech at a Finance Trust Bank staff meeting, focusing on restoring hope for parents of children with special needs. He posed several guiding questions to encourage reflection:

Is your child safe?
Is your life safe?
Is your child a problem to the community? (neighbors/school)
Is your marriage safe?
Is your job/business safe?
How is your child's future?
The speech emphasized the importance of safety, stability, and hope for both the child and their family. At CESA, we continue to advocate for special needs children and their families, fostering environments where they can thrive.

🌟 Challenges Faced by Children with Special Needs in Uganda 🌟

Children with special needs in Uganda face significant challenges, including community-based stigma, limited access to education, healthcare barriers, social isolation, economic hardship, and inadequate support systems.

At the Centre for Special Abilities (CESA), we provide a safe haven for over 40 children, offering specialized education, healthcare, social integration, and family support. Our goal is to empower these children to thrive and reach their full potential.

📸 A Day of Learning at CESA! 📸This Thursday, Martin, one of our dedicated volunteers from Simptech Media, graced our students with a Photography 101 class.

Children with special needs, especially those on the autistic spectrum, are often fast learners who perfect new hobbies or skills to mastery.

We warmly welcome other volunteers to CESA with any skill that can benefit our children.

CESA, located in Nansana, Uganda, is home to 40 children aged 3 to 22. Our mission is to promote a God-fearing, equal rights, and equitable opportunities for children with special needs through assessment, rehabilitation, capacity building, and advocacy.

We can’t begin to describe our gratitude towards Kaisa Mihklepp and the entire team at MTU Mondo for the special ongoing Digital competence training at CESA.

🌟 Exciting News at CESA! 🌟

We are thrilled to welcome Kaisa from Estonia, a volunteer from the NGO Mondo, which empowers women and young people with special needs and enhances digital competences among refugees. Kaisa will be with us for 4 weeks, training our employees in digital competence.

Digital skills are crucial when working with children with special needs as they enhance communication, provide access to educational resources, and enable the use of assistive technologies. These skills also help our staff create more engaging and inclusive learning environments.
