On October 15th, Mr. Kizito, the Principal of CESA, delivered a powerful keynote speech at a Finance Trust Bank staff meeting, focusing on restoring hope for parents of children with special needs. He posed several guiding questions to encourage reflection:
Is your child safe?
Is your life safe?
Is your child a problem to the community? (neighbors/school)
Is your marriage safe?
Is your job/business safe?
How is your child's future?
The speech emphasized the importance of safety, stability, and hope for both the child and their family. At CESA, we continue to advocate for special needs children and their families, fostering environments where they can thrive.

๐ Challenges Faced by Children with Special Needs in Uganda ๐
Children with special needs in Uganda face significant challenges, including community-based stigma, limited access to education, healthcare barriers, social isolation, economic hardship, and inadequate support systems.
At the Centre for Special Abilities (CESA), we provide a safe haven for over 40 children, offering specialized education, healthcare, social integration, and family support. Our goal is to empower these children to thrive and reach their full potential.

๐ธ A Day of Learning at CESA! ๐ธThis Thursday, Martin, one of our dedicated volunteers from Simptech Media, graced our students with a Photography 101 class.
Children with special needs, especially those on the autistic spectrum, are often fast learners who perfect new hobbies or skills to mastery.
We warmly welcome other volunteers to CESA with any skill that can benefit our children.
CESA, located in Nansana, Uganda, is home to 40 children aged 3 to 22. Our mission is to promote a God-fearing, equal rights, and equitable opportunities for children with special needs through assessment, rehabilitation, capacity building, and advocacy.

We are thrilled to welcome Kaisa from Estonia, a volunteer from the NGO Mondo, which empowers women and young people with special needs and enhances digital competences among refugees. Kaisa will be with us for 4 weeks, training our employees in digital competence.
Digital skills are crucial when working with children with special needs as they enhance communication, provide access to educational resources, and enable the use of assistive technologies. These skills also help our staff create more engaging and inclusive learning environments.
