This Christmas, we’re giving more than a gift; we’re giving life. 💧🎄

Through the Harris Institute’s Gift of Water Christmas Campaign, we are working to bring clean, reliable water to 2,000 people every day in Kabale, Uganda.

Clean water means healthier children, stronger families, and greater hope for an entire community. This Christmas, your generosity can make a lasting difference long after the season is over.

Give the Gift of Water. Give hope. Give life.

🚨So much is going on. Where is the God we’ve trusted?

Could God be walking with us on this Rocky Road of life, and we don’t even notice? Are you too blinded by life’s circumstances to recognize hope upon arrival? Have you given up?

Well, I’m excited to announce my new book, The Christ We Miss: Recovering from Double Blindness for a Faithful Public Life, releasing November 10, 2026!

On the road to Emmaus, two disciples knew the news but missed its meaning. They walked with Jesus but didn’t recognize Him. Their story invites us to ask what we might be missing today.

Through Scripture, history, and ordinary life, I explore how Christ opens our eyes to recognize His presence, even in troubling times and amid bad news, and how clearer vision can shape the way we live, lead, and serve.

📖 Available on Amazon beginning November 10
✍🏽 Book signings coming this fall; details soon!

Join me on this journey toward clearer vision and a more faithful public life. Please share this announcement!

The world is our classroom; and leadership development spans generations!

At , we create opportunities for high-level professionals to deepen their thinking, strengthen their leadership, and serve the common good. Through Harris Teen Forge (HTF), we’re also investing in young people as they discover their gifts, connect with history, and find purpose through service.

Derrick Norman of Chesapeake, Virginia, captures what this means. From helping children at STEM camp in Ghana to exploring his heritage, he returned with a powerful testimony: “This trip inspired me to become a leader.”

We couldn’t be more proud of our emerging “glocal” leaders—young people learning to lead locally with a global perspective! 🙌🏽

We’re gearing up to recruit promising teen boys and girls for our 2027 cohort! Know a young person ready to learn, serve, and grow? Stay connected for recruitment details.

Rigorous Thought. Faithful Action.

“My testimony: I found my rhythm” on the Harris Institute’s Ghanaian Pilgrimage & Mission Trip!

For Harris Teen Forge mentee Nehemiah Anderson, learning to play the Dondo drum in Ghana became more than a musical experience. It deepened his appreciation for his identity and helped him discover a bond he had never known he could feel.

This is why we create opportunities for young men to travel, learn, serve, and encounter their heritage. Nehemiah found a rhythm that will stay with him long after the music stops.

Thank you, Nehemiah, for sharing your testimony. We are proud of you! 💚

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the Harris Executive Guild, including the remarkable Harris Institute Fellows!

This extraordinary community brings together Christian leaders from many professions: scholars, educators, bishops, pastors, engineers, real estate brokers, sales leaders, healthcare professionals, and many more. Each person contributes distinctive wisdom, experience, and faith to our shared global work.

We could not be prouder to think, grow, create, and serve alongside each of them!

Today, we are especially grateful for Bishop Stan Williams, Sr. (). Whether Oxford, Cambridge or the Gathering of the Fellows at Princeton Theological Seminary, he is there! Bishop Stan has faithfully participated in the Harris Institute from the very beginning. Bishop Williams, thank you for believing in the vision, sharing your wisdom, and helping us cultivate a community where both the scholar and the pastor can flourish.

We are deeply grateful for you!

Two tanks. 2,000 people. Clean water every day.

The Harris Institute is grateful to partner with Edwin Amanya and Light of the Hills Foundation Kabale LTD, local churches, and the residents of Nyakabungo and Kashaki villages to help address a critical need for water in the hills of Kabale, Uganda.

This is a partnership rooted in local relationships and shared commitment. Light of the Hills Foundation, our trusted partner on the ground, is helping us work directly with the communities, churches, and leaders who know these villages and their needs best.

Today, women and children walk nearly 4 kilometers (that’s nearly 2 1/2 miles one way each day!) beginning as early as 6 a.m. to collect water from shallow wells. Together, we are working to build two 20,000-liter water tanks that can provide basic daily water for approximately 2,000 people.

Our goal is $10,000; every gift moves us closer.

$5,000 builds one tank. $10,000 builds both.

This is what partnership looks like: local leadership, global collaboration, and faithful action meeting tangible human need.

Give the gift of water.
