🚧 Dormitory Expansion Progress! 🚧
We’re excited to share an update on the Kiyoora High School dormitory expansion! Thanks to the incredible dedication of our alumni volunteers, the project is moving forward and making a real difference.
Special shout-out to Okror Gonzaga (Site Engineer), Byaruhanga Edson (Architect & Quantity Surveyor), Tukamuhebwa Annister, Owomugisha Living, Owoyesiga Davis, and everyone who contributed their skills and energy. Your commitment inspires our community and sets a powerful example for current students and fellow alumni.
While we’ve made great progress, there’s still finish work to be done. We’re ready to support continued efforts and send funds to help move the project forward.

Dormitory Expansion Underway at Kiyoora High School!
We’re excited to share that Kiyoora High School in Ntumgano, western Uganda, is expanding its dormitory facilities to welcome more students for the 2026 academic year. In 2024, our dedicated alumni came together—using their own funds and hands—to build the framing for both the girls’ and boys’ dormitories, adding two 30-foot additions for the girls and one for the boys. In 2025, students hand-made and laid the bricks, showing incredible teamwork and pride in their school. This February, alumni engineers demolished the old girls’ bathing shed, constructed new dormitory walls, and finished the roof, thanks to generous support from the McCarthys and Ascension Lutheran Church members.
These improvements will provide a safer, more comfortable home for our students and strengthen our school community. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating this milestone and look forward to an amazing year ahead!

Exciting News from Kiyoora High School!
We are thrilled to welcome new students for the 2026 academic year at Kiyoora High School in Ntumgano, western Uganda. Thanks to the generous support of our alumni and international friends, our campus now features expanded dormitory facilities, a brand-new security fence, and a large recreational center. These improvements will help create a safer, more vibrant environment for all our students.
We look forward to an amazing year ahead and invite everyone to join us in celebrating these milestones!

New Gardening Program! This summer Kiyoora High School launched a new gardening program that gave each participating student their own garden plot and cabbage seeds. Students planted in June, cared for their gardens through the season, and harvested fresh cabbages in October.

We’re proud to share that the school purchased the harvest from our students and used the cabbages in nutritious school meals — a full-circle success that taught responsibility, teamwork, and the value of growing your own food.

A huge thank you to the students, teachers, and staff who made this project possible.

Celebration
We're thrilled to announce that thanks to Linda's incredible book drive in Iowa, 2,200 books arrived at Kiyoora High School in April. The school’s new library construction was completed shortly afterward, and in honor of Linda's generosity we proudly named the space the Linda Library and Information Center.

A Harvest of Hope: We’re thrilled to share a beautiful example of generosity and impact. Thanks to Pam and David’s thoughtful donation of irrigation supplies, our school garden flourished beyond expectations this season. The result? A bumper crop of beans—enough to nourish our students for the entire school year!
