DAY ONE MORNING ASSEMBLY

Topic: Why Do We Come to School Every Day?

Duration: 3–5 minutes
Aim: Help students understand the purpose of school beyond punishment, exams, or promotion.

OPENING

Teacher asks loudly and cheerfully:

> “Good morning, students!”
(Students respond)

Then ask:

“Who likes coming to school?”

“Who sometimes wishes school would close for one month?” 😄

Allow a few hands or reactions.

Then say:

> “Today, we are talking about something very important:
Why do we come to school every day?”

MAIN MESSAGE (2–3 minutes)

Teacher continues:

“Many people think we come to school because of:

Uniform

Teachers

Tests

Exams

Or puni shment

But listen carefully… that is not the real reason.”

Pause for effect.

> “We come to school to:

Learn how to think, not just what to remember

Discover our talents

Learn how to talk to people respectfully

Learn how to solve problems

And prepare for the future”

Use a simple example:

“Before you learned how to read, books were just papers.
Before you learned numbers, money was confusing.
School gives us eyes to see opportunities.”

INTERACTIVE MOMENT

Ask students:

“What is one new thing you learned last term?”

“Who wants to become something great in the future?”

Then say:

“Every great doctor, teacher, engineer, pilot, and leader
once sat in a school like this.”

(Take-Home Point)

Say clearly:

“We don’t come to school because we are forced.
We come to school because we are building our future.”

Repeat together (Call & Response):

Teacher: “School is my…”
Students: “Opportunity!”

(Repeat once)

CLOSING (Encouragement – 30 seconds)

End with:

“So every morning when you wear your uniform, remember: You are not just coming to school.
You are coming to become better than yesterday.”

We invite all parents in Sironko to bring students to a school that is tried and tasted. School fees range between UGX 150,000 and UGX 300,000. With boarding.
We also skill students in carpentry, tailoring, ICT and Bakery.

Christmas is an important time for families and we are especially grateful to our family in Sironko that has supported our efforts in building the futures of so many students.
We encourage all young people to enjoy their stay at home, to do the dishes and make life easy for your parents just like Christ was a gift we encourage you to be gifts to your parents as the Bible says Children are a gift from God.
