Grace Orphanage School

Grace Orphanage School We are a primary school locate in Nanga, Mukono District, in Central Uganda. For some kids who has no one, Grace provides a permanent home.

Grace Orphanage Center is located near Nakifuma trading center, Mukono District, Central Uganda. It was started in 1996 by Regina Mukiibi, an HIV+ woman who had lost a brother and sister to the disease. As Regina knew first hand the effects HIV/AIDS has on family and community, she wished to build a school that could provide orphans with love, support and education they need in order to grow and t

hrive. As the death toll from HIV/AIDS rises, more and more children are left orphaned, many thrust into the arms of extended family who struggle to feed and educate them. Grace provides these children with schooling and food free of cost if the guardian donates 1 morning per week to dig in the school garden. Unfortunately, Regina died before the school was completed. Her sister, Liz, left her teaching position in the city, adopted Regina's 2 daughters, and took charge of the school. Grace services children from Nursery to Primary Class 7. There are 7 girls and 1 boy who permanently.
