Government-aided and partly a Universal Primary Education school, Northroad's challenges are far beyond those faced by other schools faced with the problem of high numbers characteristic of all UPE schools; its numbers are
simply overwhelming. A visitor to the school is shocked by the sight of humanity represented by the little ones in the inadequate compound. In one of the heavily crowded classr

ooms, children sit in the classroom without lessons and un-attended to but with their weary looks, one can deduce that although they are determined to get an education, the conditions at school make it difficult. A pupil of P4, Charles Gibogi, 15, said at times he has to run home to answer nature's calls for convenience because it is tiresome to keep waiting. "The classrooms are filled up all the time, the teacher cannot turn, they cannot attend to us individually. They just teach and leave us without understanding. Because we were brought here by our parents, we have to
accept and be here," said Gibogi. Mr Wambedde says they have made reports to the school board of governors, municipal education officer and the Ministry of Education about the school conditions but there has been no response and children have continued to study under old dilapidated classrooms which are at the verge of sinking. The Municipal Education Officer Loyce Manana, said council is waiting for the national census in order to grade the school well. "I am aware the school is populated like many other primary schools in the municipality but we are waiting for the national census
that is due to be conducted by the Ministry of Education countrywide to look for remedies," said Ms Manana

Good evening fellow North Road Comrades, We want to report you that we had an Old Students Meeting with the school administration and deliberated on formalizing the association. This was followed with a resolution to form an interim committee that will oversee the Constitutional Review process and report back to the general members assembly.

Today Bisagati Timothy W visited our mighty school and engaged the administration on a number of issues.
1. Revive the glory of North Road Primary School to be the best traditional and primary school in Mbale and Uganda at large.
2. Old students to formalizing the formation of the association and register it legally with URSB or any recommended entity.
3. Mobilize all the Old Boys and Girls to join the association and participate in the activities supporting the school
4. Prepare and invite all the Old Boys and Girls for a general meeting on Wednesday 16th February 2022 at the school. (Time to be communicated).
