Message from the Director, Lauren Rowell
The Haven For Learning is a unique institution in East Africa, bringing education, job creation, vocational studies, social activities, and open laboratories for studies involving botany and biology to the Masindi, Uganda area.
We believe that education is a human right, not a privilege, and we also believe a caring environment is needed for people to learn. The word “haven” invokes a sense of security, a place of refuge, an inviting place in which people feel valued – that is how we chose the name for our organization, and that is also the way in which we ourselves approach our work. We are offering our services to the people of the Masindi area for free.
We believe all people deserve a chance to be educated, to explore the natural talents that are unique and innate in every individual. We also believe that in turn, all talents and avenues of self-expression should be utilized in helping the individual to enrich their talents for the benefit and service of their communities, and the world.
We are a non-denominational organization, welcoming all in kindness and friendship. We hope to hear from you soon.
