It is located 8kilometres along Kampala Gayaza road in a peri urban setting with a very high population density around it. The school currently has a student population of 1,200 pupils and employs about 60 teachi
ng staff and 20 non teaching staff
The school was founded in 1966 by Stanley Semwanga who was a teacher of Gayaza Central primary school, now Wampeewo day and Boarding Primary School. Wampeewo Ntakke secondary school was founded under church of Uganda as a Technical college to provide technical skills to Wampeewo Primary School leavers. The founder had a passion for the pupils and thought of a way to help these poor pupils access a lifelong training that will equip them with skills of employability and to enable them fit in the society even when they drop out of school. By then accessing Secondary Education was almost impossible for the majority of Ugandans. The church Missionary Society had their own curriculum which according to the founder, could not make a pupil succeed in life unless he or she continues to the university and acquired a university degree. Most of the pupils were dropping out at the elementary level and these were the concern of the founder.
