AWARE OF THE YEAST:
Introd: Friends and family we’re already living in the last days, but as the children of the house need to be aware, cautious or alert of the yeast in the bread.
We currently have so many (false-preachers, pastors, evangelist, apostles, prophets, teachers ) a midst us, the false-preacher a midst of the true-sons(children ) of God that we need to be cautious, discerning or we need to be informed of their craft-cunning ways of the (wolves in the sheep skin).In other words we need to be warned, alerted and informed of their tricks, deviced-schemings in various ways, these keep changing different ways (they’re so crafty & cunning that we need to be aware of their scheming-tricks).
These are the “counterfeits” of the true-sons (children of the light) ,so we need to be warned and alert of their different ways of (cunning-craftiness in life), Which means you need to be rooted and grow-to maturity- enough to discern their cunning-crafted tricks in this life.
In this portion of sharing we’re going to look at different ways of the cunning-craftiness and schemings of the( children of the darkness by the prince of darkness).
And how can you help save our dear ones or loved ones to fall victims of certain circumstances in the wrong hands of the devil & his allies. Be warned, stand warned, be alert friends …Be cautious..
Friends lets turn to the book of
Text : Mark 8:14-21,niv vs Mathew 16:5-12,nkjv
“The disciples had forgotten to bring bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat. “Be careful,” Jesus warned them. “Watch out for the yeast” of the Pharisees and that of Herod.”
They discussed this with one another and said, “it is because we have no bread’.
Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them,” Why are you talking about having no bread?, Do you still not see or understand ? .Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember?. When I broke the five loaves of bread for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?”. “Twelve,” they replied. And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?”. They answered “seven”
He said to them “Do you still not understand?”
Mathew 16:5-12,niv.
“When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread.” Be careful, “Jesus said to them, “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
They discussed this among themselves and said, “It is because we didn’t bring any bread.”
Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked “You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread?. Do you still not understand?. Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?. Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?. How is it you don’t understand that I was not talking to you about bread?. But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees”. Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Lessons learnt:
-It’s unfortunate that so many believers have been taken up and confused simply because of food,
Jesus was trying to pass an important message to His disciples but all their minds were on food alone, just most of us today, other than thinking about what is more important at that very time and it’s at this point that so many have been misled because of free-food on different meeting b’se they’re used of having –free meals, “quote me right here friends: free things are good but they come with a heavy-price if not evaluated well enough”
-In this text Jesus Christ was trying to refocus His disciples to what is more important in their ministry callings, or consider most important or what they should focus on or what they need to priotise at this time when serving God, its unfortunate that most of us become distracted and driven in different direction that is not our main thing (major in what is more important other than being distracted in trivial-issues that distract a lot…).
-In this Journey Jesus Christ was trying to bring His boys(disciples ) to awareness , to know and also understand what may be happening or taking place as they’re trying to spread the true-gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, they should be alert, on guard and aware that at any point they will encounter so many counterfeits along the way in their ministry-calling but they should be cautious and precautions of how to deal with such kind of incidences ,when they happen, what should they do about it.
-They should be able to see , hear and also be able to understand and deal with the issues at hand of that sort when they show up or even come along the way in their ministry-callings.
-His disciples because of the “Little –faith” they had completely forgotten that Jesus Christ previously performed the miracles to feed a thousand people, so the issue was not about the bread but beyond bread by trusting God, to entirely depend on Him for everything.
- He wanted to show them and let them know that they should not be more moved by the “Miracles..” because miracles take place any time as long as they/you do understand Him,they’re food for the children of the house.
Lets see what Jesus Christ said to them in the gospel of Luke 10:1-24,niv/nkjv
Lest look at these key-verses here ..3, 17-21,
“For I am sending you out like lambs among wolves…..”
“The seventy two returned with joy and said “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name,”
“He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven, I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing will harm you. However do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in Heaven ( the book of life).
-Jesus is fully aware that is sending His disciples as lambs amidst wolves in the sheepskins, but they should be discerning to see, know and hear them when they’re out there, they should be aware of those wolves in the sheepskin (the religious teachers of the law..), the self-righteous who teach laws not the divine-grace of Jesus Christ who saved us from the bo***ge of the laws.
-He once again warned them about being so much excited that the “spirits submit to them” much as it sounds so good to see people being delivered and the spirits submitting to you, He tried to bring it to their notice that so many will use my name (Jesus Christ) and the unfamiliar spirits will flee, they will submit and much as all that is good and done in the name of Jesus, it’s not that the unfamiliar- spirits are fleeing from the people but what is more important is you who is casting out the demons “Is your name written in the book of life?” yeah you’re doing a great –job casting out demons, seeing them fleeing , it is well but you, who is casting out the demons , spirits is your name written in the book of life?”.
-Jesus Christ tried to bring it to our notice, much as they demons or spirits flee from people , He has already given us the power and authority to cast them out of people so we should not be much more excited that demons flee from people, its not our power but the authority comes from Jesus Christ, so we are just overcomers, those demons where cast-out way back in time by Christ...here we’re just fulfilling our divine-assignments in Christ’s authority.
We should also not be so much excited that “Miracles, signs and wonders” are happening right now, noo ….Jesus Christ gave us full-assurance that …”Greater works shall we do in His name…”
Lets look in the book of the gospel of ( John 14:9-14,niv/nkjv), key verses (11-14,niv)
“Believe me when I say that I am in the father and the father is in me, or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves”
“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing, He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the son may bring glory to the father. You may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it...’
-Friends before we get so much excitement that unfamiliar spirits and demons are being casted out or they’re fleeing, we better have it at the back of our minds that “It was promised to us that we shall be able to do greater works more than what our Lord did in His name…”
-We should not be blind-folded by the mere fact that “small- miracles” that are happening that we even rob God of His divine-glory, that we take it in our hands other than Glorifying our heavenly father through His dear beloved son Jesus Christ who has enabled us to perform those miracles, because it was promised to us by Jesus Christ and at by the time it’s happening Jesus Christ knew it well enough before that He will use us as the vessels to see that, that miracle-comes to pass in that person’s life, glory be to God …. we should be conscious and discerning not to take the credit for the miracles, signs and wonders but that we should give God the glory, Hallellujah.
-We should not be surprised or even much excited when He uses us in those areas of performing the miracles that we rob God’s glory other than glorifying His name…
Friends we should also be aware these kind of false-preachers, pastor have already “Crept in’ amongst the children of the light (God) , we need to be aware of and discerning …..
Lets look in the book of Titus 1;10-16,niv
“For there are many rebellious people, mere talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision group. They must be silenced, because they’re ruining whole households, by teaching things they ought not to teach and that for the sake of dishonest gains…”
-These false preacher, (yeast in the dough), you need to be aware that they’re rebellious fellers
-They are liars, mere talkers, and deceivers of many through religious laws
-They need to be silenced and stopped, not talked about it alone….
-They do not only ruin the households (Churches…) but also the families and individual-person’s lives when critically analysed.
-Whatever they teach or even preach its not of God but only lies and deceiving so many in the “name of Jesus..”
