Uganda is making waves on the global STEM stage! 🌍🚀

The African School of Innovations Science & Technology (ASIST) has qualified for the 2026 MATE ROV World Championship in Newfoundland, Canada through its student robotics team, HYDRO SAPIENS (Team 0106A).

ASIST joins an elite global field alongside teams from the USA, Canada, China, Turkey, and Hong Kong, with Uganda and Egypt standing as the only African countries represented.

The prestigious MATE ROV Competition is the world’s leading underwater robotics championship, challenging students to design and operate advanced underwater robots for real-world ocean science and engineering missions.

This remarkable achievement highlights Uganda’s growing footprint in innovation, engineering, and STEM excellence on the world stage. 🇺🇬✨

Position: Marketing and Social Media Coordinator Officer

Location:
African School of Innovations Science and Technology
Head Office, Ntinda Semawata Road, Kampala

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or social media management
• Strong content creation, storytelling, and brand communication skills
• Creative design, photography, and basic video editing abilities
• Proficiency in digital marketing and social media management tools
• Ability to develop innovative campaigns and grow audience engagement
Preferred:
• Professional certifications in Digital Marketing, Branding, or Communications
• Experience in education, youth development, NGO, or STEAM environments
• Website design, development and management skills.

We are looking for a creative, strategic, and motivated professional to help grow our brand, increase enrollment, and inspire the next generation through impactful marketing and communication.

Yesterday, our students explored the future of smart agriculture through a hands-on session focused on designing a smart greenhouse system using Arduino, sensors, relays, and LCD displays.

Guided by Coach Mugarura Allan, the session empowered young innovators to apply technology to real-world environmental and agricultural challenges.
