SRHR Alliance Uganda The Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Alliance Uganda is a consortium of organisations that stand for and promote young people’s SRHR.

We are a consortium of like-minded organizations whose work is geared towards addressing Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights challenges that hinder young people from realizing their life goals. The SRHR Alliance Uganda is comprised of organisations with strong niche, expertise, and experience in key aspects of SRHR programming for vulnerable and marginalised groups of adolescents and young people. Our work is geared towards ensuring that all young people have access to high quality and youth friendly SRHR information and services within a supportive environment. The SRHR Alliance Uganda also works to ensure that vulnerable groups of adolescents and young people (including adolescent girls and young women, young people living with HIV/AIDS, young people in emergency settings, young people living with disabilities and those among key populations) are supported to claim and exercise their SRHR without impediment and free from violence. The SRHR Alliance Uganda is registered with the Registrar of Companies as a company limited by guarantee: Reg No. and the NGO Board with the Ministry of Internal Affairs: Reg No. INDR147933245NB. It is also tax compliant with Tax Identification Number. 1015853885. Our Vision: We envision “A society where ALL young people have equal access to SRHR information and services to make informed life choices”
Our Mission: We existing to strengthen SRHR partnerships and networks that inspire young people to live healthy and productive lives. Our Strategic Objectives: Over the next 5 years (2019 to 2023), the alliance shall strive to achieve the following strategic objectives.
1. To harness a collective voice of young people and SRHR actors to influence the program, policy, and legal environment in Uganda.
2. To strengthen the delivery of quality SRHR services, information and education for adolescents and young people in Uganda
3. To strengthen capacity of the SRHR Alliance and its partners to deliver quality SRHR services to adolescents and young people in Uganda.
4. To generate evidence to inform effective delivery of SRHR services and policies for adolescents and young people in Uganda.

Yesterday at the UNAIDS Headquarters in Mbuya, Kamapala -Uganda. we joined National Forum Of PLHA Networks in Uganda at their National Dissemination Meeting. The forum launched its 2025/26–2030/31 Strategic Plan and a Community-Led Ebola Response Project, and released its Performance Report and the 2026 National Stigma Survey.

Discussions centred on persistent HIV-related stigma, service-access barriers, with participants pressing for sustainable domestic financing and stronger community-led delivery.

The meeting also unveiled Prof. Maggie as the Home of Champions Fundraising Brand Face, showing a renewed push to keep the rights and voices of People Living with HIV at the heart of Uganda's response.

Today, our Advisory Committee President, Esther Labu, represented us at the Youth & Adolescent Voice Consultation held at Reach A Hand Uganda

The talks focused on putting young people's voices at the center of decisions on gender equality, access to justice for women and girls, and the SDGs. The message was clear: youth participation must be real, not tokenistic, and their lived experiences should shape policy and be carried into .

Recommendations included: stronger accountability so SDG 5 reaches marginalized young people and women, and intentional, inclusive government budgeting built around youth needs.

A strong call to increase domestic resource mobilization to fund young people's and women's initiatives. Better data collection, as solid evidence is what gives advocacy its real weight.

SRHR champions take the lead against Sexual Gender-Based Violence.

Through community sensitization on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Mukoone Wilberforce from Buswale Sub-County, Namayingo District, is facilitating the referral of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cases to the Community Development Officer (CDO) of Buswale for appropriate support and follow-up.

This effort demonstrates how empowering young people with the right tools strengthens youth-led action, community coordination and meaningful participation, creating an enabling society for speaking up on SRHR issues and driving sustainable change.

Young people are shaping a social environment that eases access to SRHR information & services.

Bwire Stephen of Budimo village, Buyinja sub-county, Namayingo district, reached community members with information on family planning, positive masculinity, and HIV testing, increasing awareness, access to services, and information uptake.

This shows how the ACT4Y-SRHR project is empowering them to provide youth-friendly SRHR information & services to adolescents and undertake advocacy of SRHR issues affecting them at grassroots levels.

TBT: Safe spaces for young people on mental Health.

At Alliance uganda we understand that young people have many silent struggles, and our work includes providing them safe spaces to openly discuss them.

On this , we are throwing back to our mental health safe spaces where youth leaders gathered to share experiences, learn skills in peer-to-peer guiding and counselling, and make referrals for mental care. Through these spaces, we empower them to speak up with confidence, listen without judgement, and build a culture of empathy in communities.

Most people struggling with mental health remain silent because they fear judgment or neglect, yet silence has never saved anyone.

Speaking up and listening without judgment is key because it breaks stigma, encourages early support, prevents crises from increasing, and builds empathy within communities.

We call upon everyone to check on someone and push for accessible mental health services. Changing the narrative means creating a culture where compassion replaces silence, and support is always within reach.
