The College of Computing and IS has a Centre for Innovations and Professional Skills Development (CIPSD) that offers short professional ICT courses.
These courses appeal to a diverse range of learners ranging from secondary, university, and postgraduate students to the working professional.
They vary in duration from one to six months and are delivered at different time intervals i.e. morning, afternoon, evening, weekend classes, or as boot camps.

Upon completion students will earn a certificate of attendance or competence.

This project which is funded by the Research and Innovations Fund of Makerere University is a COVID-19 surveillance and early detection system “COVID-19 Rapid Response” a mobile and web-based application that will enable citizens to report suspicious cases of COVID-19 at their convenience and also assist health experts to monitor COVID-19 discharged patients.

From the platform citizens are able to report COVID-19 suspicious cases with symptoms, the health experts on the other hand are able to assess the information received and respond accordingly. The health experts are also in position to monitor discharged patients of COVID-19 to prevent new infections in the community.

The seminar will take place from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Thursday, 4th March 2021 and shall be an online based event.
