Cultivating a culture of peace and unity by dancing each other’s traditional dances. Because when we learn one another’s rhythms, stories, and movements, we begin to understand each other beyond words. And those who dance together can never fight each other. Let culture be our bridge, not our boundary. Let movement become our language of peace.
Sosolya Undugu Dance Academy Center for Children and Youth
Sosolya Undugu Dance Academy is a community based organization founded by Lezon Mark Mugwanya in 1993
Sosolya Undugu Dance Academy is a vibrant family of children and youth aged 5–25, united through sharing our traditional music, dance, drumming, and drama. Rooted in love, culture, and belonging, it offers a safe space for young people from all walks of life to grow, dream, and lead. Inspired by founder Mark Lezon Mugwanya, Sosolya has transformed 711 lives—restoring dignity, nurturing talent, and connecting us all as one Undugu family.
Wishing you all, Undugu Family, clarity of mind and deep inner peace in these blurred and uncertain times where the noise of war and division tries to drown out our shared humanity.
May we choose compassion over conflict, dialogue over destruction, and unity over fear. Because in Undugu Family we belong to one human family and we are simply brothers and sisters. Undugu Family DANCE Academy Sosolya Undugu Familie e.V.

Undugu Family Festival 2025, in collaboration with , organized a community sensitization on Fair Trade for Rwenzori cocoa growers during the Cocoa Harvest Celebration 2025.
For many growers nearly 90% chocolate remains unaffordable luxury, and they were unaware that chocolate is produced from the cocoa fruit they grow and harvest. This exchange created space for learning, reflection, and re-imagining fairness along the cocoa value chain.
Big thanks to Sosolya Undugu Familie e.V. , , and all of you our partners for the support and solidarity that made this engagement possible. Together, we grow a fairer and more sustainable cocoa future.
When young people grow proud and peaceful within themselves, they naturally learn to respect, tolerate, and embrace others.
This Christmas, our students bring this truth to life through a powerful X-Mas production, opening with a vibrant 20-minute celebration that blends cultural and urban Christmas traditions. Through music, drumming, and dance, they reveal the strength of unity beyond our differences.
Undugu Family young artists lead the experience—inviting the audience to celebrate the true gift of Christmas while reflecting on sustainable peace, shared humanity, and the power of dancing together as a tool for conflict resolution. When we move together, we learn to live together.
Undugu Family organic garden, we’re growing more than food — we’re reviving our ancestral gardening knowledge through love, resilience, and community.
Here, matoke, beans, pumpkins, fruit trees, and coffee thrive together, blending nourishment with sustainability.
Big Undugu Family hugs to our brother and family for watering this dream with kindness.
We soon open doors to fair-trade partnerships and welcome volunteers skilled in food processing, preservation, and value addition to join our journey toward a greener and fairer world.
Together, we plant hope — and harvest dignity.

This World Children’s Day, we playfully planted and petted 120 fruit trees!
Over the years We well know planting is easy — but growing takes real care. That’s why our approach always involves local families and fellow children, who become guardians of the trees. Each child owns their tree/trees just like a pet, nurturing it with love and responsibility.
