Today, the MUBS Administrative Staff Association (MUBASA) held its Annual Team Building, bringing staff together to strengthen teamwork, deepen relationships and reaffirm a shared sense of purpose.

Speaking at the event, MUBS Principal, Prof. Moses Muhwezi , emphasized unity, collaboration, commitment and continuous professional growth, while underscoring the importance of staff welfare and open engagement between staff and Management.

His message was clear: every staff member has a role to play in building MUBS.

In his remarks, the outgoing chief Internal Audit Mr. Asiimwe George expressed gratitude to MUBS for the trust and support they rendered to him during his tenure of office. He stressed that Internal Audit is often a demanding task, requiring independence, objectivity and difficult conversations. He challenged his successor to continue upholding integrity, objectivity, transparency, professionalism and confidentiality. Asiimwe cuationed the team to strive for effeciency and credibility in order to preserve the confidence that the school has in the Internal Audit function.

The Principal of Makerere University Business School, Prof. Moses Muhwezi , has urged first-year students to make the most of their university journey by pursuing more than just a degree.

Addressing freshers during today, he encouraged students to embrace discipline, integrity and lifelong learning, develop both technical and social skills, choose the right company, use technology responsibly, and take advantage of the many opportunities MUBS offers. He also reminded students to uphold the School’s values, including respect for others, decent conduct, and the zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment.

“The choices you make today will shape your future. Be intentional, remain focused, and strive to become an asset to your community and the nation.”

Today, Mr. George Asiimwe officially handed over the role of Chief Internal Auditor at MUBS to Mr. Isa Mayanja, marking a transition of leadership. The Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi commended Mr. Asiimwe for his professionalism, integrity, humility, and exemplary service, crediting him with transforming Internal Audit into a trusted advisory function. He also welcomed Mr. Mayanja and pledged his full support as he assumes the role.
