BBEL Academy is in Rural Uganda in town called Mityana. It has classes from Kindergarten to primary seven (grade 7).

Our goal is to start secondary school in 2019 so that our graduating class in grade 7 don't have to go elsewhere.

Zebron and Adonai are some of our dearest babies at BBEL, interesting enough they are also the most dedicated to the school, they just looooovvve being there. Incidentally Zebron lives with mummy, single mom, and Adonai (the cheaky one) lives with Grandma (born to teenage parents...)

Sunday morning and warm greetings to all our friends... Last night we got word that one of our teachers was quite sick and hospitalized. Teacher Aloysius is suffering from stomach ulcers and a nasty bout of malaria. Please remember him as you go through the day.

Please help us say thank you to Uncle Tom Byarugaba of FIXIT who has offered this bus and another smaller one to take us to school and back whenever we need them... Some of the pics show how we get to the point where we take the bus - yup, on motorbikes. That is Daddy bright bringing his 3 kids over.

Fortunately the pavers can be stored until such a time when we need to use them, the same goes for the the water tanks... as we figure out what to do. We covet your prayers please.

Now this is the unfortunate conclusion of the story... Yesterday there was a huge storm at the school, so huge that it pushed our classrooms off their base, almost toppling the whole thing over. We are almost at the tail end of the rainy season, so it has been raining almost everyday. The structure was badly damaged that we are not sure if we can save the tin roof. We are going to have to redo the whole thing. But at this rate we are thinking of actually slowly building a brick structure. The poles on this one were totally damaged by termites even though we took extreme measures to prevent it...One side of the L-Shaped structure survived and is still standing. Thankfully the kids were on holidays, there were absolutely no injuries.

The story continues... For sometime we have struggled with water, many times having to go to the springs and boreholes to fetch it in cans. Well, our sister school Gold Hill Middle School took note and actually did a fundraiser for us. Today we bought 2 1000 liter tanks and delivered them to school... Thank you so much Auntie Angie Harms and thanks to all the very wonderful pupils and staff of GHMS that participated... But but but, the story continues!!!

So much has happened in the last few days that we are not sure where to start from. Its going to come in order of happening. First is in January, as per the last post, we got visitors from Kailua Community Church in Hawaii, US. We have a blast as we had VBS for 3 days, 3 days of great singing and dancing and skits and games, activity basically. While they were on the visit, they looked into the classrooms and realized that our floors were paved, they were just bare red dirt. So they went back and raised funds so we could put in some paving on the floors. Here are the pics of the pavers being made... We were going to need thousands of them - but but but, the story continues.

Tuesday was international Labour day, and since we are still school going kids, we went on holidays. It's going to be 3 good weeks before we head back to school. So in the meantime we are going to hang out with family and friends to the max.. Yeah, we still have to use public transportation, it's a little easier though as the vans do pick us up from school to take us home. This is until we get our own ride!
