Hi, I'm Michelle, I graduated from King's College Budo in 2016 as the best student that year, and the only one to get 20 pts. I spent a year in medical school at Makerere but found it not to be as fulfilling as I anticipated. With the help of Future Uganda, I applied to college in the US, and landed at Williams College, a small liberal arts college in Massachusetts. Here, not only do I get to explore my passion for biology, but numerous other interests such as intersectionality and feminist theory.” I have also worked with professors on original research and have been published in scientific journals. This is something that would have required a PhD to do in Uganda, but fortunately, in the US, and at Williams, there’s no glass ceiling—you get to decide how far you want to go.
Now, I’m certain that I’m not the only talented woman in Uganda. I believe there are many more like me that would better be served in a place like Williams where you can be your true, authentic self and reach for the stars. I’d love to work with such women and guide you to join me in the US.
If this sounds like you, then fill out our application form by January 15th to attend our information session on January 20th.
If you don’t fit these criteria but know someone who does, feel free to pass this along.
We do all of this without expecting any compensation, but only with the expectation that you will stick with us till the end, and that you will cover your own application fees.

Future Uganda – future uganda
Future Uganda was formed in 2017 to help expand Uganda’s global network of friends, to encourage foreign direct investment and to create opportunities for Ugandan students to study abroad.

Hi, I’m Kevin. I graduated from King’s College, Budo in 2015 and I’m currently a sophomore (2nd year) at the University of Rochester in New York.
I spent a year at Makerere University doing a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry, but after the school shut down for the third time that year due to strikes, I decided it was time to look elsewhere.
It took me three attempts to get into a top university in the US, mostly because I made many avoidable mistakes, but also because admission to a top university is a highly selective process, especially when you need a $70,000 scholarship.
At US colleges, Ugandans are severely underrepresented. In my college alone, there are only about 7 of us—and this is because my school recruits more Africans than any other college in the US. On the other hand, places like Harvard, MIT, Stanford, etc receive one Ugandan every 3 or so years—sometimes, never. On the flip side, our Kenyan neighbors flock to these places (as many as 7 in one year) with the equivalent of an O’ level education, and it irks me to no end.
It’s for this reason that I co-founded Future Uganda, with the aim of seeking out Uganda’s best and brightest and encouraging them to dream bigger and give America a shot.
It’s possible, it’s doable, and the opportunities are unmatched.
I for one will be working with Microsoft this coming summer. And you can too.
If you’re a smart, ambitious student with good grades (17 out of 20), extensive leadership, and/or sports, we’d be happy to work with you.
If this sounds like you, then register for our information session by filling out the following form by January 10th: https://forms.gle/mRXjPJaWH1CD6Rs4A.
If you are a parent that's interested in your child pursuing this opportunity, you are welcome to fill in the form as well.
If you don’t fit these criteria but know someone who does, feel free to pass this along.
We do not expect to be compensated for our time, but expect to cover your own application costs.
