Promoting Early Childhood Development in Uganda

Peace was in P.5 before lockdown in Njeru. She is 7 months pregnant and she thought she was too young to conceive.

Our teenagers need us to open up and tell them facts as they are.

Many tell girls don't sleep with men, to a teenager's mind it sounds like before you spend a night with a man in bed you can't get pregnant. So the teenager will have s*x but avoid sleeping over or staying for long.

While addressing this issue with teenagers we all need to be very careful and pay attention to every word mentioned.

Ever wondered what rural girls use during their menstrual cycles.

We asked them!
Some blend Kavera and cloth, some hardpaper and cloth, some use leaves some just stay indoors.

No girl deserves this!

Majority of the girls never attend school during their periods.

As our children remain out of school due to the lockdown, we need to watch them fully and guide them.

Limiting their movements in community is very important and We should encourage them to study.

Children of police officers may never own a toy since their parents are low income earners.

We visited the children at Naguru police headquarters and we were amazed. Every child was ready to play and learn.

Saturday was World cleanup day, we joined hands with Hindura Recycling Initiative and Her Health Kit to clean up Kawanda market and the road heading to Kawanda research health center.

We appreciate the local government of Nakyessanja for being very cooperative and open to new ideas.

We met Joas and Walusimbi in Buruli, the two attend Kyakonwa C.U primary school which is very far from.

They love school but curse the long journeys they have to take before getting to school. Leaving them with no choice but to always take days off to rest causing them to miss class from time to time.

As Governments prioritize reopening of Schools, they also need to solve problems children as facing.

This video explains something about children, they are super "copy cats" they replicate exactly what we do.

This is one thing we need to remember before doing anything at home. Commanding your child to do one thing and you do contrary to what you commanded the child to do, will automatically make your child also to switch to exactly what you did.

Let's try out good habits for the sake of our children and for a healthy and better world.

we wonder why Early Childhood Development (ECD) has been reduced to Early child Education.

It's always fascinating for teachers who attend our trainings on how to simplify and articulate ECD.

We also share more on Play And Learn (PAL) Programme that stimulates brain development and also enhances learning in the classrooms.

The faces of these children tell the story best.

The 21st century is coming to an end and it leaves us with classrooms that look like this. Many times when we feel like we need to move faster as to reach these children am also reminded of those who have completely no access to education.

we wanna launch deeper as to reach more children. 30% around the world is just not enough, join us as we launch deeper.

Beware that you do not despise or feel scornful toward or think little of one of these little ones[children], for I tell you that in heaven their angels always are in the presence of and look upon the face of My Father Who is in heaven.
