Doctor Kate Granger dies
after hitting £250k cancer
charity goal

A terminally-ill doctor who raised
£250,000 for a cancer charity has
died, her husband has confirmed.
Dr Kate Granger set about
fundraising for the Yorkshire
Cancer Centre after being
diagnosed with a rare form of
cancer in 2011.
Her husband Chris Pointon
announced her death on social
media.
He said the 34-year-old passed
away on Saturday "peacefully &
surrounded by loved ones". He
added: "RIP my soul mate & TY.
Love u 4ever."
Dr Granger, who had been receiving
care at St Gemma's Hospice in
Leeds, achieved her fundraising
target just three days ago.
Dr Granger, from East Ardsley
near Leeds, had also tried to
improve the way doctors and nurses
speak to patients by launching the
"Hello my name is..." campaign.
She had previously described how
the doctor who informed her that
her cancer had spread did not
introduce himself to her, and did
not look her in the eye.
The campaign went on to win the
backing of more than 400,000
doctors, nurses, therapists and
porters across 90 NHS organisations.

People's president is in Nakawa court today... the State of the Nation address was done yesterday and no much reactions have been heard from it....

Somalia sentenced over 6 people who masterminded the airplane bombing to life in prison although it blasted without killing any person on board....Madonna to be sued if she doesn't return the kid she adopted to the dad in Malawi who now claims he has money to look after the 13year old boy....And in Sport Uganda Cranes keeper Onyango was bestowed the best PSL keeper from the recently ended season in which he helped Mamelodi Sundowns win the South African biggest league with a record 71 points....And Samuel Eto'o requested that Okocha be substituted though not on his team but because he was too good in the Joseph Yobo testimonial match....
