WHAT IS JOBPRENEURSHIP? It is the study of jobs and their entrepreneurial potential. It explores everything that surrounds aquisition of a job, retaining it, positioning yourself, and understanding what you are selling to the organization. WHY HAVEN'T I HEARD ABOUT IT? It is a course that has been developed over 5 years - since 2016. All the modules
have been developed out of a question, dilemma, frustration or a mistake confessed, observed, or shared by someone in a work setting. We don't have huge resources yet to make billboards or announce on Television. However, we are reaching out to one person at a time. BUT IS IT A RECOGNIZED COURSE? The Jobpreneurship Course is more like the socks in your shoe. Few people will notice them. If you didn't put them on, no one will turn you away. However, even though no one sees them, we still put them on because we have a personal use for them. The Jobpreneurship Course has for now been saved from being a certified course because it's charm is not in the certificate. It's charm is in the content. It completely transforms how you interpret things in your work environment and thus helps you make informed and better choices. The people we have trained recognize us. (Am sure they'd hire anyone who has been through it). HOW CAN I ATTEND IT? It is a physical training held in Kampala - Uganda. We have chosen physical classes for now (with Covid19 SOPs) because they have proven effective. Deeper discussions have been held there. It is a class that thrives on high trust between the attendees. With an online option - where you don't know who is listening in on the other end would prevent the class from sharing deep and honest lessons and experiences to learn from. However, in order to reach out to people in different parts of the country and world, it is possible to run it in a week - non-stop. Currently, it is being held at The Institute of Advanced Leadership Uganda - located at Nsambya opposite The American Embassy. However, classes are not running due to the lockdown on schools. HOW LONG IS THE COURSE? The course has two folds:
1. Jobpreneurship for Employees - 46 hours - 5 days for 8 hours per day. However, at the institute, it's held Monday-Friday every evening for 3hrs for 3 weeks.
2. Jobpreneurship for Managers, Supervisors, Employers, Founders - 40 hours
HOW MUCH IS THE COURSE? Jobpreneurship for employees is Ugshs 500,000
Jobpreneurship for supervisors, employers and employees is Ugshs 1,500,000
WHAT ELSE? There is a customized one-off training for organizations. We have revolutionized team building. We fuse knowledge with fun. For organizations that want to be started on Jobpreneurship, reach out. However, it doesn't substitute the depth we pump into 46 hours of a full Jobpreneurship Course. AM NOT YET CONVINCED
We have run two classes in 2019 and early 2020. If you would like to ask anyone, we can share some contacts of our students with their permission. We cannot rule out a possibility of individuals using what they have learnt from our classes to manipulate others. We don't put this to the nature of the content we teach. Rather, we put this on the values of the individual. Just like a dishonest accountant doesn't do so because accounts teaches them to do so but because of their values. Jobpreneurship has been created to help employees transition to the new demands of being employed - demands like being self-driven, creative, and taking ownership of their jobs. That is why we argue that any employee in these times should understand what service they are offering an organization, what needs they are satisfying in that organization, who are the customers (whose needs) they are serving. This simple revolutionary idea has helped those employed to refocus their energies and serve better. Therefore, we are confident about what we teach.
