It was a dedicated group of Vice Chancellors and Heads of Institutions who felt that it was useful to have a united voice and share lessons on mutual concerns.

The Uganda Vice Chancellors' Forum successfully organised the Academic Registrars’ Training Workshop at K Hotels.

The workshop brought together Academic Registrars and higher education administrators to share experiences, strengthen collaboration, and discuss innovative approaches to improving service delivery, digital transformation, academic records management, and student support in higher education institutions.

We appreciate all participants, facilitators, and partner institutions for contributing to the success of this important engagement towards advancing quality higher education in Uganda.

Makerere University today hosted the 6th Annual Prof. Senteza Kajubi Fulbright Memorial Lecture at the Main Hall under the theme, “Education Policy Reform as an Enabler of Student Success: The Kajubi Legacy.”

The lecture was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, and graced by the United States Ambassador to Uganda, William W. Popp. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Mary Goretti Nakabugo, who highlighted critical priorities in education policy and learner outcomes.

The event brought together a distinguished audience including university leaders—among them several Vice Chancellors—policymakers, development partners, scholars, students, and members of Prof. Senteza Kajubi’s family.

A rich panel discussion—featuring Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo, Executive Director of UVCF, alongside other panelists—further explored the enduring impact of Prof. Kajubi’s contribution to education in Uganda.

The active engagement of participants underscored the continued relevance of Prof. Kajubi’s legacy in shaping inclusive and effective education systems.

The memorial lecture continues to serve as an important platform for advancing conversations on education reform and national development in Uganda.

Africa Renewal University Launches the Africa School of Film and Media Arts!
On October 30, 2025, Africa Renewal University (AfRU) proudly launched the Africa School of Film and Media Arts, marking a major step forward in advancing creative and digital media education in Uganda and across Africa.
The launch crowned a four-day Film Summit featuring hands-on training in filmmaking, directing, lighting, and cinematography — led by both local and international experts. The event brought together leaders from academia, media, and regulatory bodies to celebrate creativity and collaboration.
The Uganda Vice Chancellors Forum (UVCF) was represented by Mr. Ronald Balimunsi, Head of ICT and Innovations, who attended on behalf of Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo, Executive Director UVCF.
Speakers commended AfRU’s Kingdom-centered vision, its role in nurturing young talent, and its contribution to strengthening Uganda’s film industry.
🎥 UCC reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youth through digital and creative initiatives, while Next Media encouraged collaboration and the promotion of family-friendly content.
The school was officially launched by AfRU’s international partners, Mr. Brian Glassford and Mr. Derrick Warfel, who were recognized for their significant support and contribution.
This historic launch reflects AfRU’s mission to transform society through Christ-centered education and innovation, raising a new generation of African storytellers ready to shape values, culture, and narratives across the continent and beyond.
