WHAT WAS GOD THINKING WHEN HE CREATED YOU?
Yesterday, I was invited to talk to a cell group of young people about purpose.
Why am I here? What was God thinking when He created me?
To Jeremiah, God said, Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
In other words God had a clear plan for Jeremiah's life even before he was conceived - to appoint him as a prophet to the nations. His conception therefore was a manifestation of the plan of God.
Have you ever looked at yourself this way? That you are a manifestation of God's plan? You are not a mistake! God formed you because He saw a need on Earth. You are the answer to this need.
Now you see why I hate abortion with a passion. It is not just a termination of some meat and bones, No. It is a termination of a plan of God - maybe an invention, a ministry, a great book, a great leader or even a great nation!
So, when God made you He had His plan in mind. So when he formed your body, character traits and everything that makes you unique, He had His grand plan in mind that you were supposed to accomplish.
When he put you in that family setting, that village, that country or that continent it was not by mistake. He was setting you up to appropriately suit and therefore fulfill His plan.
So don't go about trying to be someone else. You are unique. There is no one like you on the face of this Earth. You are unique and God has given you a unique mandate. It is in you. You can get glimpses of what it is by your passions, your dreams and the things that flow so naturally to you.
Psalms 139:13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
