A SANCTUARY FOR THE DISADVANTAGED

30/05/2025

African Poor Child Concern - Uganda, nestled in the heart of Kisugu, Wabigalo, is a beacon of hope for the underprivileged children of Kampala Uganda. This organization is not just an NGO; it's a community driven by the spirit of – a Luganda word embodying the spirit of working together for a common cause. The focus here is on transforming the lives of vulnerable children by providing them with education, basic needs, and a nurturing environment. The warmth and dedication of the staff are evident in their efforts to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has a chance to thrive. The impact is tangible; you can see it in the smiles of the children and the positive reviews from volunteers and visitors. One visitor remarked, "The love and care here are overwhelming. You can tell the children feel at home and are given a real chance at a better future."

The organization's approach is holistic, addressing not just education but also healthcare and emotional well-being. They understand that for a child to learn effectively, they need to be healthy and happy. Hence, African Poor Child Concern - Uganda ensures that the children receive regular medical check-ups and nutritious meals. Moreover, they create an environment where children feel loved and supported, fostering their emotional growth. The success stories speak volumes about the organization's impact. Many children who were once on the streets are now in school, some even excelling in their studies. A former volunteer shared, "Seeing the progress of the children over time has been incredible. It's a testament to the amazing work being done here." The organization truly embodies the Ugandan spirit of – togetherness and support – creating a brighter future for these children, one step at a time.

"What a devil art thou, Poverty! How many desires -- how many aspirations after goodness and truth -- how many noble thoughts, loving wishes toward our fellows, beautiful imaginings thou hast crushed under thy heel, without remorse or pause!"

Our dream remains transforming the lives of the homeless children and all the disadvantaged. They are nothing but small innocent and beautiful souls.

THEY ARE THE WORLD!!

The world should know that children are uniquely precious, that they have rights. What is done to them is a violation of these rights.

We all must demonstrate that we are committed to tracking down such perpetrators and hold them to account for their actions. And we must do what we can to help them develop the resilience and wisdom to break free from the physical and emotional pain they have endured.

AFRICAN POOR CHILD CONCERN MAKES HUGE DONATION TO EARNEST ORPHANAGE SCHOOL.
On 26th June, 2016, children of Earnest Primary School for orphans were treated to a bright moment when APOCC director; Ivaney Turyasingura visited their school for the second year running. The charity foundation boss delivered scholastic materials to children who were very ecstatic to receive the collection. The package included a geometry set for each of the 36 candidates at the school that are to sit their primary leaving examinations later this year.
“We are very happy to receive you and thank you for the continued support you have given our children,” a jolly Ivan Wafula, the director of Earnest school.
The children’s former Mathematics teacher Hakiza Herbert who accompanied the APOCC director to this occasion could also neither hide his excitement saying that this was a critical time for the arrival of these materials since he acknowledged that during his teaching days, many pupils lacked these materials especially geometry sets which was a huge constraint to their performance.
Mr. Ivaney Turyasingura then closed the day with special words of encouragement, “stay in school, read hard and aim at the highest qualification and be like me and even better. I hold two degrees and am aiming at the third. Always look forward to bettering your best,” he said before promising to make shopping for everyone who scored a first grade in the Uganda Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), 2016.
He also thanked all members of the community who had made enormous contributions to make this happen.
Late last year, APOCC also donated clothes to the children of Earnest Primary school in an endeavor to make the lives of the poor child in the community better.
REMEMBER: OUR WARM GIVING HEARTS ARE THEIR HOPE.
