From Uganda to Cape Town: Waape Takes the Uganda Crown at the national GEC+ Africa Pitch Competition.

We had the usual honorable duty and privilege to award the Uganda representative Global Entrepreneurship Congress + Africa pitch competition to the innovative Ugandan startup, Waape! ๐๐๐
Organized by Global Entrepreneurship Network Uganda ๐บ๐ฌ , in collaboration with The Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC+Africa) and Enterprise Uganda, the + Africa Regional Pitch Competition sought out the brightest minds and most promising startups across Uganda. ๐ก๐ก๐ก
Eligible startups included pre-seed or seed-stage ventures with at least a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), as well as non-tech startups or post-revenue SMMEs. ๐ป๐ฑ๐
After a rigorous selection process, participating startups underwent a preparatory bootcamp and pitched their heart out to a panel of expert judges. ๐ฃ๏ธ๐ฃ๏ธ๐ฃ๏ธ
Waape, the brainchild of a talented Ugandan team, emerged as the overall winner, captivating the judges with their innovative solution and promising future. ๐๐ฅ๐
As the Ugandan champion, Waape has secured an all-expenses-paid trip to Cape Town, South Africa, for the GEC+ Cape Town event. โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ
There, Waape will have the chance to pitch their groundbreaking concept to a global audience and compete for a share of a staggering $100,000 in investment! ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฐ
This is a remarkable achievement for Waape, and I couldnโt be more proud of their success. Their victory is a testament to the incredible talent and entrepreneurial spirit that exists in Uganda. ๐บ๐ฌ๐ช๐บ๐ฌ
