ICPAU
Established in 1992, by an act of parliament now the Accountant Act 2013 The Institute currently has 1700 full members and 11 associate members.
ICPAU has the mandate to regulate and maintain the standard of accountancy; and to prescribe or regulate the conduct of accountants in Uganda. The Institute is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA). As part of its role, ICPAU carries out the following activities:

Officials from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) presented the Institute’s views on the Tax (Amendment) Bills for FY 2026/2027 before the Parliament of Uganda, led by CPA Silajji Baguma Kanyesigye, Chair of the Taxation and Economy Policy Committee.
As a regulator, ICPAU remains committed to upholding professional accountancy standards and contributing to informed policy decisions in the public interest. The full comments on the Tax (Amendment) Bills will be shared on the ICPAU website.
