Overcoming Faith: The God Who Calls and Carries You

Faith has two sides, what we do and what God does. Overcoming faith is trusting the God who speaks, obeying the God who calls, and continuing to trust what He has told you until He fulfills it. It is not just mental agreement or sight, but believing before seeing. As Martin Luther King said, it is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase. True faith is man's weakness leaning on God's strength. It doesn't deny reality, but it grasps the unrealities of hope and brings them into reality. Mountains don't move because of what we say, but because of whom we trust.

Faith is important because without it we cannot please God (Hebrews 11:6). It goes beyond information; it is accepting what God says about you and suspending logic to open your heart. According to Genesis 12:1, our part in faith is to hear God's command and obey it to meet His promise. Faith is trusting God to get us somewhere.

This call to faith comes with lessons: Your miracle is on the other side of your going, many miracles require changing location. The call will always cost you something; God will break you from your common systems to grow your belief muscles. When God sends you, He doesn't always give you a full address, you must walk step by step. And finally, you are never too old to start.

Prayer is not a substitute for preparation, and calling is not an excuse for complacency.

Develop the gift. Master the skill. Do the work. Then offer your excellence back to God.

Faithfulness looks like preparation. Excellence is worship.

Yesterday we officially launched Evolve Fellowship, a new community for young adults at Gaba Community Church, and what a beautiful beginning it was!
More than 220 young men and women gathered, representing a generation in a very strategic season of life. Some have completed school, some are working, some are building businesses, some are married, and others are still trusting God for opportunities and direction.
As a church, we recognized the need for this generation to fellowship, grow, serve God, and journey through life together.
It was such a joy to have them in our home, to fellowship with them, listen to them, pray with them, and share our hearts about what God can do through their generation.
We will be meeting once every month, and we believe this is only the beginning of something significant.
If you are a member of Gaba Community Church or you live around the Gaba community and you are a young adult, Evolve is the place to be!
We love this generation, we believe in them, and we are excited about what God is doing in and through their lives. There is so much ahead, and we believe God is raising young men and women who will know Him, serve Him, and make an impact in their generation.
We are excited to see where God takes them.
