Thinking about joining university through Mature Age Entry? Start preparing as early as you start thinking about it.

Gone are the days of saying, “Mature Age has no syllabus, so I can just wake up and sit the exams.” You can try that, but you may end up learning the hard way.

Preparation matters, and that’s where mentorship comes in.

There are now many people offering Mature Age Entry preparation, especially online. But don’t just choose someone because you found them on TikTok.

Look for structure.

Where do they operate from? Can you physically find them? Is there a proper programme? If you have a question or complaint, do you know where to find them?

You could meet someone on TikTok today, exchange numbers, and start sending money to a person you’ve never met. That requires caution.

Prepare early. Choose your mentor carefully. And know exactly who you’re trusting with your university journey.

Got your Mature Age Entry Certificate but don’t have the money to start university immediately? There’s something many people may not know.

If you’re admitted and registered at university using that certificate, but then request a dead year because you’re not ready to continue, your Mature Age Entry Certificate can still remain valid.
So, even if the two-year validity period has passed, the fact that you already used the certificate to gain admission and officially requested a dead year can make a difference.
But don’t just assume, confirm with your university or the relevant admissions authority before making a decision.
Because sometimes, the issue isn’t that you’ve lost your opportunity. You simply need more time to get ready.
