Makerere University hosted a delegation of students from Tottori UniversityJapan. During their visit, the students had the chance to interact with representatives from various colleges at Makerere University. This gave them an opportunity to learn about Ugandaโ€™s economy, history, and higher education system, while engaging with local students.

The orientation program for international students at Makerere University was a significant and well-coordinated effort, reflecting a robust support system for newcomers. This massive initiative saw collaboration between several key departments, including the Office of the Dean of Students, the International office, the Counseling and Guidance Centre, the Office of the Academic Registrar, and the university library.

The partnership among these offices ensured that international students received comprehensive guidance on academic procedures, personal support, and essential resources. The Office of the Dean of Students provided oversight and organized key orientation activities, while the Counseling and Guidance Centre offered crucial support services to help students adjust to their new environment. The Office of the Academic Registrar facilitated smooth navigation of academic registration and regulations, and the library staff introduced students to essential research resources and study spaces.

This extensive orientation was designed to empower international students with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive academically and personally. The collective efforts of these departments have created a supportive and welcoming environment, setting a strong foundation for international students to succeed in their studies.

As these students embark on their academic journey at Makerere University, the institution extends its best wishes for their success and encourages them to take full advantage of the resources and support available to them.
