Despite giving no information about release date, price, or technical specs, Microsoft surprised many tech bloggers today with the announcement of Windows Holographic and the HoloLens, an operating system and headset for augmented reality computing.
That is to say that it blends the world around you with digital objects and interfaces. Need to make some last-second modifications to a 3D model that’s going to be 3D-printed this afternoon? In a few years, Microsoft wants you to put on a HoloLens and interact directly with the model, seemingly resting on the empty space on your desk. The tool tray you use won’t just be a few columns of brush and cursor icons, but an actual rack of brushes sitting next to the model you’re working on.

Data velocity accumulation;
As an IT person, there has been a debate across all forums of data, databases and so forth all bring up their arguments across the board over the risk beign put across the continent with much increase in data. Many researchers conducted along the globe show the accumulation of present data dates from 2009 – to date.
And the question was, is data a problem or a new sector of investment worth it?
My answer would be as different from yours, only due to the fact that our viewing of facts, passion of careers and resource centers that we do feature in are as well different. But to me data is not a problem as many would term it, though its only the velocity of data at our disposal to the extent, if your that lazy within the industry you may end up loosening to a losers chair too.
So what is your view on data????

Top Trends for 2013
IEEE Computer Society journals, magazines, and conferences are continually at the forefront of current technology trends. That's just one of the reasons that IEEE Computer Society is the community for technology leaders. As a technology professional, keeping on top of trends is crucial. Below are a list of technology topics that Computer Society magazines, journals, and conferences will be focusing on next year:
1) Internet of Things
The Internet of Things is more than just the newest buzzword. The IoT promises to be the most disruptive technological revolution since the advent of the World Wide Web. Projections indicate that up to 100 billion uniquely identifiable objects will be connected to the Internet by 2020, but human understanding of the underlying technologies has not kept pace. This creates a fundamental challenge to researchers, with enormous technical, socioeconomic, political, and even spiritual consequences.
In recognition of the importance of IoT, Computer, the IEEE Computer Society's flagship magazine, is planning a special issue in February 2013. "The Internet of Things: The Next Technological Revolution" will offer a forum for highlighting what the IoT could bring to the end user. Recommended topics for this special issue include design and development methodology for a user-centered IoT; the dynamics of social media and connected objects; community programming for the IoT, including citizen science, citizen journalism, and social activism; opportunistic sensing, big data, and the IoT; and the impact of the IoT on the future networked society.
2) Cybersecurity
Recent technological advances in computing, communications, software, and hardware have enabled the significant growth of cyberspace, an important aspect of modern life that continues to transform the way citizens, business, and governments interact, collaborate, and conduct business. Our heavy dependence on various digital infrastructures has made them strategic national assets that must be protected to ensure economic growth, prosperity, and safety in the future.

Linux server revenues growing faster than windows, Hit $2.6 Billion
IDC is out with its first quarter 2012 global server stats study and the numbers look good for Linux.
While overall global server revenues were down, Linux server revenues were up.
According to IDC, Linux servers generated $2.4 billion in revenue for vendors in the first quarter of 2012. That's a 16.0 percent growth rate, which is better than the 1.3 percent revenue growth rate for Windows servers.

IBM: SQL Injection Vulnerabilities on Decline
There were over 4,400 new security vulnerabilities in the first half of this year, according to the 2012 IBM X-Force Mid-year Trend and Risk Report.
At the current pace, 2012 could pass the all-time record high for new vulnerabilities, set in 2010. While the total number might sound daunting, it's not a surprise to IBM researchers and it's also not as bad as it might seem. Although the total number of new vulnerabilities are up, so too are patching rates. And the most common attack vulnerability, SQL injection, is actually on the decline
"We have been seeing a trend of having a record year and then a pullback for the last five or six years," Clinton McFadden, senior operations manager for IBM X-Force Research and Development, told eSecurity Planet.
IBM believes this is because vendors are generally now more responsible in disclosing risks to their users, McFadden said. Not only that, but vendors are quicker at supplying patches and mitigation options.
