OUR VISION is:
To instigate a lifestyle of happiness and principle right from the start! Mission Statement
Safe Haven Day Care Centre aims at fostering healthy and happy infants, in a warm and nurturing, infants-only environment. (Early experiences for babies’ 0 to 5 years lay the foundation of how they will
learn, think and behave for the rest of their lives.) Core Values
Caring for the babies with genuine love and affection, coupled with constant attention to developmental needs. We strive to provide Continuity of Care which means that the child and family have the same caregiver for their first three years. Providing the child with the social and emotional stability needed for optimal growth and development. We ensure that parents remain the most significant and most important adults in their baby’s life as we work together as a family unit. Communication
Daily written and verbal communication will keep you informed about every part of your baby's progress. It is our experience that this high level of communication furnishes peace of mind and a mutual respect between our parents and caregivers. INDIVIDUAL NEEDS
Ages 0 weeks -12 months
Every infant has their own personal schedule; diapers are changed, free play is initiated and feedings occur according to individual needs. Ages 6 months - 24 months
Infants learn to regulate their mood, attention span, behavior and thinking as they develop socially and intellectually through the play and support offered
Ages 18 months- 12 years
We promote independence, skills in toileting and dressing. We encourage self-dressing such as putting on shoes, socks, coats/jumpers, etc. A toddler's famous last words are, "Me do it!"
Time is allowed for creativity in all areas of play. Our curriculum consists of age-appropriate choices to enable simple decision making and cultivate communication skills. Learning choices include books, blocks, music, dancing/pretend play, small manipulative toys, sand/water play and creative art activities. Physical activity promotes brain development and learning, so toddlers are offered plenty of time to ride, climb, run and move! Constantly interact with babies by smiling, hugging, singing, reading, and talking. We believe that every interaction with babies should be a message that their needs are being met in the most loving, gentle manner. The "home-like" setting of the nursery allows infants to build trust in themselves and those who care for them. Our priority is safety. The rooms in our infant daycare center are carefully designed to create a secure environment. Cribs are separated from feeding and play areas What do babies need? Babies require;
• A loving caregiver who can respond to their cries and gurgles.
• Someone who gets to know their special qualities.
• Someone to keep them safe and comfortable.
• Opportunities to move about and practice new physical skills.
• Safe objects to look at, bat, grab, bang, pat, roll, and examine.
• Safe play areas.
• Opportunities to hear languages and to make sounds. What more have we got to offer??? Besides daycare services we do fun filled holiday camps through which we supervise holiday work (home work), we help children with reading difficulties, planned and supervised activities and loads of free play in a safe environment for kindergarten to Primary five.
