The secret ingredient to teaching is play.

Hey friends! Let's talk about the incredible power of play when it comes to educating our little ones. It's time to let children explore the great outdoors and embrace the wonders of the world!

Did you know that play is not just about having fun, but it also plays a crucial role in a child's development? When kids engage in play, they are not only exercising their bodies but also nurturing their minds.

Play provides the perfect learning opportunity for our little adventurers. Whether it's climbing trees, building sandcastles, or chasing butterflies, painting, Lego, these activities help children develop essential skills like problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.

By allowing our children to explore the world, we are fostering a love for learning that will last a lifetime. They learn about the environment, different species of plants and animals, and social skills.

Moreover, play helps children develop their motor skills, coordination, and balance. Plus, when they play outside, m in the fresh air and sunshine provide a natural boost to their immune svstems!

So, let's encourage our little ones to put down their screens and step outside into the magical world of play. Let them dig in the dirt, jump in puddles, build block and let their imaginations run wild!

Remember, learning doesn't always have to happen within four walls. Nature is the ultimate classroom, Where children can explore, discover, and grow.
Let's prioritize outdoor play and give our children the gift of a well-rounded education.

Together, we can create a generation of curious, creative, and environmentally conscious individuals!

Join Bluemoon International School and let your child enjoy the benefits of playbased education.

If you child or a child you know has been labeled lazy, switched off, uninterested, dumb in school, your child's school and teachers are failing them.
You have to do something about it. You think you are paying for your child to learn academics but what they are actually learning is that they are dumb, lazy, stupid and a lost case. This will stay with them through adulthood.
Chances are high that they may have an underlying condition that's causing their struggle.

This doesn’t mean that your child is dumb or stupid. On the contrary, your child is exceptionally brilliant and intelligent. They just need to be taught in a way that they learn.

If your child struggles with reading, writing and/or maths, there are high chances that they are dyslexic or have dyscalculia.

We are currently doing free screenings for children to determine this.

Is your child struggling with math, reading, and writing?

They might not just be "falling behind." There could be something more going on... like dyslexia or dyscalculia.

Dyslexia can make reading and writing feel like a jumbled mess. Letters dance, words twist, and simple sentences turn into a confusing maze.

Dyscalculia can make numbers feel like slippery eels.
Counting feels like juggling, math problems become tangled webs, and even basic calculations turn into a frustrating battle.

But here's the good news: it's not your child's fault! They're just wired differently, and that's okay!
In fact, their brains might be amazing at things like:
* Creative problem-solving '
* Thinking outside the box
* Seeing things from a unique perspective

The problem is: traditional schools often don't cater to these different ways of learning. That's where we come in!

We offer alternative learning methods that actually work for dyslexic and dyscalculic minds.
Imagine:
* Reading lessons that feel like exciting adventures, not boring drills.
* Math problems that come alive with games, puzzles, and hands-on activities.
* A supportive environment where your child feels celebrated for their strengths, not defined by their challenges.

Don't let your child struggle in silence.

I’ve publicly that growing up with undiagnosed dyslexia in our mainstream education system was quite the challenge. Yes, I’m a teacher, and I, too, find reading difficult. But you know what? That’s exactly why I became a teacher.

It’s because I understand the struggles and hurdles that children with special learning needs face. I’ve been through it, and I want to make sure no child goes through it alone.

That’s why I’m thrilled to reintroduce the Special Needs Program at Bluemoon International School. We’re here to support children between the ages of 0-8 who have special learning needs. Our team is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive and grow, regardless of their unique challenges.

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, explore, and discover their own potential. So, if you know a child who could benefit from our program, or if you’re a parent seeking a supportive educational environment, I encourage you to come visit our school. Witness the care and dedication we put into helping these remarkable kids succeed. 💫

Contact us for more information or to schedule a visit. Let’s make education a place where all children can shine and achieve their dreams.

Learning Journey

If your child is experiencing speech delay, here are a few mistakes you may be making. 👇🏾

1️⃣ Talking non-stop without giving the child time to process or understand.
Some parents keep talking like this: “Wow, you are making a tower, you made such a nice tower, this tower is so beautiful, want to sit in the tower, oh no tower is broken.”
It’s important that we say something pause let child process and understand and then say the next sentence

2️⃣ Talking too fast
Some parents tend to have a very fast rate of speech. But children who are learning language have difficulty focusing on this fast rate. Children’s brains need time to process information. Please make sure to be mindful and slow down. Talk slowly.

3️⃣ Talking beyond the child’s language level.
If your child is not talking or using only single words and you are talking in long complex sentences, your child will have difficulty understanding what you are saying. And if they can’t understand what you are saying, they will be unable to use the same for communication.
Talk using simple sentences. Match your language to child’s age level.

4️⃣ Using only yes/no statements while alking is another common mistake. Using statements like, ‘Do you want to go out in the garden to play?’ ‘Do you want to eat dosa for breakfast?’ In this scenario the my response we expect from the child is yes/No.
Instead use open ended questions: What do you want to eat? Where do you want to go? Give them opportunities to communicate and require them to respond.

5️⃣ Using only commands while talking
Some parents only use commands while talking to the child.
“Come here, take this, keep it on the table, bring it from the kitchen.” Our children won’t learn to talk easily if we follow an authoritarian role.
We need to treat and respect them as individuals & focus on two way interaction.
E.g “what should we make today?
Hmm, how about potato?” Child says “potato.”You say, “yes! Even I love potato. Can you help me wash it?”

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the profound significance of play in the realm of education. You see, to a child, play isn’t merely a way to pass the time. It’s not just games, laughter, and toys. No, it’s far more profound than that. Play is the highest form of research.

In the playground, children aren’t just climbing structures; they’re mastering the art of balance and coordination. When they build with blocks, they’re not just stacking; they’re understanding fundamental principles of physics and engineering. During imaginative play, they’re not just pretending; they’re exploring social dynamics, empathy, and complex narratives.

In the world of a child, every sandbox becomes a laboratory, every swing an experiment, and every toy a tool for discovery. Play is their gateway to understanding the universe. It’s how they make sense of the world.

In play, there are no failures, only lessons. There are no boundaries, only horizons waiting to be explored. It nurtures creativity, resilience, and problem-solving skills. So, when you witness a child at play, recognize that you are observing a researcher, a scientist, an explorer delving into the mysteries of life.

As parents and educators, it’s our duty to cherish and protect this sacred space of exploration. Encourage play, for in it, our children don’t just find joy; they find knowledge, understanding, and the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Remember, play isn’t just a break from learning; it’s the most profound form of it. Let our children play, and watch them grow into the brilliant thinkers and innovators of tomorrow. 25/10/2023
