Makerere University medical students' Association (MUMSA) is an umbrella body that unites all MBChB students at Makerere University. it is a member of Federation of Uganda Medical Students Association (FUMSA) and the International Federation Of Medical Students (IFMSA). AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF MUMSA
The aims and objectives of MUMSA are:
a) To act as a link between medical students, staff and university authorities in order to provide a healthy environment for the pursuit of mutual interests
b) To seek representation and participation in or on all organs of the Faculty of Medicine and University Administration
c) To work in close solidarity with students’ organizations and to establish such working and friendly relations and understanding with other when, where and while desirable. d) To cultivate worthy qualities among the members as they train and prepare for the noble profession
e) To negotiate with any State governing bodies and or Non Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) in matters affecting MUMSA or her members. g) To publish the Makerere Medical Journal (MMJ) at least one per annum and any other literature that may be deemed desirable
h) To do all such other things that are in line with the aims and aspirations of MUMSA
