We're set to host Professor Michael Roberts this Friday, 22nd May 2026, at Team University under the remarkable 39 Country Initiative.

The 39 Country Initiative is a global academic engagement program designed to strengthen business and management education through the promotion of business case teaching, international academic collaboration, research exchange, and innovation in higher education. The initiative brings together universities, scholars, and institutions across different countries to share practical teaching approaches that bridge classroom learning with real-world business challenges.

The primary objectives of the initiative include:
• Promoting case-based teaching methodologies in higher education
• Strengthening global academic partnerships and knowledge exchange
• Enhancing research and innovation in business education
• Equipping students with practical problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Supporting institutional capacity building and internationalization

This engagement presents a valuable opportunity for academic staff, students, researchers, and education stakeholders to learn from international best practices and explore new pathways for transforming higher education in Uganda and beyond.

In an era where higher education is increasingly defined by innovation, adaptability, and practical competence, institutional participation in knowledge-sharing platforms remains essential.

Today, Team University officials - Dr.Sekabira Kassim , Dr.Ssegawa E.James Kiggundu, Ms. Kyokunda Evelyn Hope, Ms. Tukahirwa Ruth, and Ms. Mugenyi Harriet - participated in the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) Capacity Building Workshop held at Makerere University under the theme of transforming higher education curricula through Competence-Based Education and Training (CBET).

The workshop provided an important platform for academic leaders and higher education practitioners to reflect on curriculum relevance, graduate employability, industry alignment, and the future direction of skills-based learning in Uganda’s higher education sector.

Our participation reflects a continued institutional commitment to:
• Curriculum innovation
• Quality assurance and academic excellence
• Skills-oriented learning approaches
• Strengthening graduate competitiveness in the evolving labour market

We commend National Council for Higher Education for spearheading strategic conversations that continue to shape the transformation of higher education in Uganda.
