The Minister, Hon Kaducu emphasized that parents and caregivers are key actors, and must recognize that play is not a distraction, but a critical part of learning and development in the early years. Supporting children at home is just as important as formal education systems.

The launch is a major step forward for Uganda’s education system, and reinforces government commitment to strengthening early childhood care and education as a foundation for the future.

On Thursday, April 30th, 2026, we are celebrating a massive step forward for the children of Uganda!
will officially launch the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Policy 2025 at Nakivubo Blue Primary School. 🇺🇬🚀

By establishing a standardized, government-led framework for ECCE, we are laying the essential foundations. It's one of many vital steps to ensuring that every single Ugandan child is given the opportunity to grow, learn, and develop the fundamental ability to read and write.

We, like many of you, believe that when you get the beginning right, the future is limitless.

Building a solid foundation for a child’s education isn't a solo mission. While the journey begins at home, our educators are the vital guides who meet children exactly where they are.

When parents and teachers bridge the gap, the path to literacy and numeracy becomes clearer for every child. This week, we shine a light on the collaborative spirit that makes quality learning possible.
