RE: ORIGINAL ADMISSION LETTERS FOR PRIVATE STUDENTS 2018/2019 ACADEMIC YEAR
This is to inform you that original admission letters for first year students admitted on Bachelors programmes jointly run by MUBS and Makerere University in academic year 2018/2019, have been received from Makerere University and are being issued from your respective Faculties effective Wednesday September 26, 2018.
In order for one to be issued with the admission letter, he/she should have fulfilled the requirements quoted in the provisional admission letter. You are also required to present your identity card of the previous School/Institution.
Please be informed that the original admission letters for private students admitted through Diploma holder’s scheme and those admitted at Regional campuses have not yet been received from Makerere University and will be issued when received.

This is to inform all students admitted on the various programs that the admission letters for Academic Year 2018/2019 are being issued from the different faculties and departments. Orientation is on going and classes start on August 13, 2018.

Celebrating our students' achievements at the Annual MUBS Final year Finance students dinner. A memorable keynote address and advice for the finalists by Mathias Katamba, MD Housing Finance Bank. Thank you Housing Finance Bank and Capital Markets Authority plus the students association for supporting this event and giving hope to our students. I am a very proud and hopeful Patron of the MUBS Finance students Association.

On March 20, 2018 all roads led to the ADB building MUBS where the Insurance Institute of Uganda(IIU) , MUBS and students community were launching the first ever Insurance Club. The main objectives of the club being; to excite students to take on careers in Insurance and eventually become clients, to network with their potential employers in the sector in form of internships and placements and finally to encourage students to participate in IIU activities like career guidance talks and insurance quiz.
The Dy. Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi graced the occassion. Others present were the CEO of IIU , Dean-Faculty of Commerce, HOD-Finance, Head of training IIU, MUBS staff and students. On this very occasion the Executive team of the club headed by their President was unveiled and the Overall 2017 Insurance Quiz winner trophy was handed to them.
The function was closed with a mini quiz where students won various goodies.

As part of improving our students' learning experience, interactions and efforts to establish relationships with the potential employers in the financial sector, MUBS has allowed students to establish Associations to realise these social and academic objectives among the various business and management disciplines. The Makerere University Business School Finance Students' Association (MUFISA) established in 2005 is one such asdociation whose leadership and membership entails students pursuing finance degrees or majors. MUFISA launched its establishment and activities at MUBS Mbarara campus on March 15, 2018.

On this day, We officially launched the Youth social and financial inclusion programme implemented by the Private Education Development Network (PEDN ) with the support of Citi Founation and Bank of Uganda. The goal of the programme is to use financial inclusion and literacy as a pathway to economically empower youth as early in life. This is to ensure we change the financial behaviour and attitude towards finances and the management of money matters among other focus areas.
Our distinguished guests at this ceremony were Prof. Waswa Balunywa the Principal of MUBS, Sarah Arapta, MD Citibank Uganda, Irene Mutumba Country Director and Founder fellow of PEDN, Mr. Ivan Setimba, Bank of Uganda Deputy Director Financial Inclusion and Nixon Ochatre , MD PEDN, Hon.Emmanuel Awori, MUBS Guild President. I must say it was a great event. MUBS continues to support the Youth as we strive to make a difference in the country and beyond...
